Tim Montgomery in a 360 last night?

The announcer said Tim was running a 360 instead of the 410 last night. I know that he had Coopers 360 car but was he running the 360 motor? If so he was damn fast for a 360 as he wasn't challenged in the dash and was pulling away from everyone else. Dustin Adams was pretty quick in his 360 also. He seems to be stepping it up some this year. I would be neat to see someone win the A main with a 360. May be if they showed it could be done the car count could go up some. A good 360 motor shouldn't be that big of a handy cap at Farmington due to the size and shape of the track.

It was also good to see some of the guys back to running the high side in turns 1 & 2..........

besides having a good 360 motor, alot has to do with chassis setup and how smooth the driver is. i'm glad to hear dustin adams ran good. he's gonna be the next star in the sprints in the near future. nathan higgins too.

I think it has already been done

Tim has already won at St. Francois with a 360 if I am not mistaken, when he was driving Dean Adams car a few years ago. Cooper's 360 is top of the line and is probably making more hp than the local 410s. Not to mention Montgomery's extremely talented driving ability. However ,I don't think hp was a major advantage on last nights racing surface.

Ive heard the 360 in Coopers car Dyno'd over 750 hp....thats pretty tough for a 360!!! I guarantee you that 360 has more money it it then anyone of the 410's racing at SFCR!!!

just because t-mac had it before dont mean anything

anyway.....coopers motor is a really stout wesmar

I'm just telling you what it dynoed at. I know it was the motor he ran with at Knoxville, but it has been gone through since then I'm sure.

not just a little birdie but a flock of little birdies told me that he is running a 434 cid motor. Maybe something has changed. If this is wrong I appologize.

"It has been done!"

Larry Dudley won his only feature win @ SFC with a 360 in a regular weekly unlimited sprint show. It was the Red, Blue & yellow #52 car I painted for him when we sponsored him about 7yrs. ago.
Marty Boyer #52 M.S.O.

you people must not know much about ascs spec's they run cast blocks and alum heads to keep horse power even. The 360 might be better on a dry slick track you won't spin your tires as bad but no way would a good 410 beat 360 on a tacky track.

If you are talking about a WoO caliber 410 then I agree with you skoob. However, on a local level I disagree. I would be willing to bet that most of the local 410s (not all of them) would do good to run mid-pack at an Ascs show, slick or tacky.
