INDIANAPOLIS (March 12, 2008) – The Tony Stewart Foundation (TSF) will sponsor the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) team in the 12th Annual “Fun at Fastimes” endurance go-kart race Saturday (March 15). All proceeds benefit the USAC Benevolent Foundation, which provides assistance to USAC drivers and families in need of emergency financial assistance.

“A true competitor on the race track, two-time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart also pushes the limits to help others through his Tony Stewart Foundation,” said Joni Thompson, TSF Executive Director. “TSF raises and distributes funds to assist children, animals and injured racing drivers as these groups are defined by the foundation’s charter. We are pleased to once again provide a team sponsorship for the USAC Benevolent Foundation’s 12th annual endurance go-karting event.”

Registration begins at noon EST Saturday, and the green flag will drop at 1:30 p.m. for the two-hour event at the Fastimes Indoor Karting facility in Indianapolis. TSR’s effort will be led by co-captains Levi Jones and Tracy Hines, along with four other members of the TSR USAC team. Bobby Barth, Colton Brown, Adam Barth, Tony Thomas and team guest Kirk Barber will seek their second “Fun at Fastimes” championship. The TSR team was part of the closest finish in event history in 2006, as it defeated second-place Team Querry by a margin of 10 seconds to take the title.

The event will feature 10 four-driver teams tackling the two-hour endurance challenge. Members of the winning team will receive medals and a special team award, four practice sessions for the price of two at Fastimes Indoor Karting, and a team photo. All participants will receive the practice session discount and a team photo.

Fastimes Indoor Karting is located at 3455 Harper Road in Indianapolis. The facility is located on the southeast corner of 96th Street and North Keystone Avenue, one block north of the North Keystone exit from I-465, next to Woodland Bowl. The race benefactor, the USAC Benevolent Foundation, has been in existence since 1956 and has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in its 52-year existence. The foundation assists USAC drivers, their families and other members of USAC in times of need.
