Track Champion Trivia

Jimmy Cummins

CEO, Cummins Lumber Co.
since things have been kind of boring on here, i was trying to think up an interesting / non-controversial post to put on here, so i thought of this. How many drivers can you think of that have won championships in multiple divisions or multiple tracks? It would be best to limit this to current drivers because if we went all the way back the list would be huge. Here is what i could think of:

multiple divisions:
Aaron Kleine: belleville in the late models and modifieds(2010)
Chris Smith: belleville in the bombers in 2000 and modifieds at highland in 2008
Marty Smith Jr.: sportsman at highland, modified at belleville and at tri city twice
Jeremy Hines: super stock / sportsman at bloomington, in and crate late model in junction city, ky 2009 and 2010
Mark Oller: street stock and late model at highland speedway and late model at pevely
Brian Bielong: modified and late model at highland
rusty griffaw: late models at clarksville, tn, modifieds at montgomery, pevely and fayette county
mike harrison: modifieds at fayette county, highland, maybe godfrey? and sportsman at fayette county in 2004 (i know because i got 2nd that year!)

multiple tracks in the same year:
Jimmy Cummins: sportsman at fayette co and tri city in 2005 and belleville in 2009
jason bohnensteihl: sportsman at highland and godfrey in 2005
paul bauman: belleville and pevely in 2005

multiple tracks, different years:
mark voigt: pevely late model 2010, tri city 2009, i am sure he has won more than this
ray walsh: pevely, tri city, st charles
steve maisel: belleville, godfrey, greenville? mt vernon?
randy korte: highland, pevely ?
brian collins: pevely, godfrey
mark faust: highland, godfrey, belleville?
bobby bittle: belleville, pevely, mt vernon maybe? did he win b-ville and pevely the same year?

How about Brad Venhaus in the street stocks in 2010.(Highland/Belleville )
I think Bielong won a sportsman championship in 04 also .
Bryan Collins won championship in 06 at (Tri City / Pevely), and won championship in 07 at (Tri City /Pevely).
Billy Faust champion in 08 at (Tri city/ Pevely).

Here are the most recent (in my limited memory) Mike Hammerle Championships. All of these were in Late Model Division. I know there are more in mods, and I'm sure there are more LM's that I'm not remembering right now. Feel free to fill in the gaps.

-Robbie Eilers - 2004 Highland Hornet, 2007 Highland Sportsman

i forgot that ray walsh won the florida speedweek points once, maybe twice, i dont know. my dad and i didnt start going to the races until 1993, so i dont know a lot of the older racers history, but i have a betterr question for don klein than how many championships has he won, since i am sure he has won a bunch. Which championship meant the most to don klein and why?

I'm guessing 17 track championships for Klein.

I think we has won at least one track championship at the following tracks:
Belleville
Bismarck Fairgrounds
Fredericktown
DeSoto
I-55
Lake Hill
St. Charles

Brandon Hogenson

2006- Godfrey and Tricity track championships in a sportsman!!! Also, last ever sportsman champ for Godfrey and Tricity 1/4 mile!!!!!

I believe Robbie Eilers won 4-cyl championships at Highland, Fayette Co., and maybe even Greenville in 2004. In 2005 Robbie won another 4-cyl championship at Fayette Co., and possibly Greenville again.

Aaron Wood: 2 time track champion (Tri-City Speedway 05', Belle-Clair Speedway 10')
Bob Zbinden: 2 time track champion (Highland Speedway 06' & 09'), and 09' UMP National Champion

Rob Shaw: 4 time track champion (Highland Speedway 05', Godfrey Speedway 05', Tri-City Speedway 09', Fayette Co. Speedway 10'), and 2010 UMP National Champion

Ed Dixon 13 track championships at 8 tracks Belleville, I55, Godfrey, St.Charles, Lake ozark ,Tri City , Lake Hill , Jefferson county
3 time Ump National champ
Denny Reinecker Won several back in the day.
Bobby Bittle was king of Belleville for years and won some at I55.
Dean Hoffman won some not sure how many or where.
Jonh Seets at Godfrey.
Mark Faust Belleville , Highland.
Randy Korte Highland , I55 , ? Godfrey

Bobby Bittle has won a total of 21 track championships over his 22 year career from 1989 to the present. Championships were won in the old limited sportsman class, super sportsman class, and UMP modified class. Bobby also won the "overall" points championships in 91 and 92 which was a great a great idea that has disappeared over time.

Belle Clair Speedway - 1991,92,93,94,95,97,98,99,2000,03,06,and 09
I-55 Raceway - 1991,92,2004,06,and 07
