Track tires?????

okay I am totaly in the dark about track tires.We use to run street tire but th eword is we are going to asphalt take off's
my question is are there different hardness and widths what are the pro and con's on these tires

the other question is Im building a mini stock and our rules just say TRACK TIRE, RACING RUBBER so now I know on these there are different compound tire and differnt brands need some info on which is better we race a 1/4 mile track the mini weigh around 2,500 to 3000 pounds what are the prices on some of these tires??? would be 15 tires also thanks for any and all info

Asphalt tires will probably have a softer sidewall than the street tires you are running now which should help with grip when you drop the pressures down. Beyond that, it will just depend on the type of tires they are getting.
