Granite City, IL -- Tri-City Speedway will host the first of four Summer Sunday Special Events on Father's Day evening, Sunday, June 20 as the O'Reilly Mid America Racing Series challenges the half-mile track.

MARS regulars Terry Phillips, Bill Frye, Al Purkey and points leader Wendell Wallace will be welcomed by St.Louis area Late Model stars that include Ed Dixon, Randy Korte, Bill Faust, Mark Voight and Kevin Gundaker. A field of over 30 late models are expected to compete in the $3,000 to win 30 lap main event.

This summer Tri-City planned their special events on Sunday evenings to offer the best oppoortunity to fans and participants and to avoid competing with regular Saturday night tracks. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m.with racing at 7 p.m.

Joining the special card on the 1/4-mile track are Modified and Sportsmen events paying $750 and $500 to win, respectively, and Tri-City Speedway regulars will be looking for a home field advantage against drivers from several other area tracks.

As a Father's Day special, all Kids 12 and under will be admitted FREE with Dad. Adult General Admission is $20 and Students (13-17) just $10. Parking is always FREE.

Tri-City Speedway is located one-half mile south of I-270 on Illinois Route 203 south (exit 4), just 10 minutes north of downtown St.Louis.
