Tri-City updates 8/29/18

Laycock and Griffaw were a lap down . Jacober and Fetter were 2 laps down. Hammerle only other finisher

Kevin and Tammy need to re-evaluate some things. While they get usually get good car counts, their programs run way, way, way too long (they need to read Ben Shelton's articles about efficient race programs). Tonight, the program did not get over until after midnight and tomorrow is a work day for many. Also, the track conditions have not been very good the 5 or 6 nights that I have been there this year. The rain certainly was a factor tonight, but that was not a problem in the other shows that I attended.

The thing I am truly most concerned about with some of our local tracks running these shows into and past midnight is how it's going to hurt their future business. When a couple is considering spending a $100+ for tickets, concessions, gas to get there... and then remember that the last time they went they had to be there til after midnight to see the advertised feature class, I'm afraid many won't come back and that just hurts the owner / promoters pocket book

That's why I didn't go and I know several people that won't go on a week night

I was going to go to the USAC show on Friday also, but I am tired of supporting the MARATHONS at Tri-CIty. You would think they would notice fans leaving LONG before the show is over.

I went to Donnellson, IA for the MLRA late model show instead. I watched the entire show (5 or 6 classes) and they were done by 10:30. On a good night at Tri-City, they might have the 1st feature on the track by then.
