Tri-City updates 9/29/18

Mod b-main 2 : lynn, Riley, dresch, Rob Lee

Nice run by the 24h. They also had the seven hours and ten minutes that it took to run the show to work on the car. He is the best!!!

Serious question: with big races like this, especially in the Fall with cooler weather better for holding for better track conditions, why not start hot laps and heats at like 3p in the afternoon. Rework the track around 6 and get the entire show done by 10p rather than 1:30 in the morning. Wouldn't that be a better business model, drawing and keeping more fans? Pros and cons, why wouldn't this work

That would work for the Saturday show but not Thursday and Friday. The first 2 nights should just be mods and LM. Don’t need 3 classes. If they started earlier on Saturday 3 classes would be fine.

Just amazes me how these promoters put all this time and energy into these great shows and the fans complain. Stupid
Thanks to the Tri City speedway for putting on these great shows for us

Half of the crowd had left before any of the 3 features were ran last night and by the time the modified feature took to the track, there might have been a third of the crowd left.

I appreciate that they put on big special events, but they are totally clueless about running an event in a timely fashion. Most promoters would have had last nights show done by 10:30 or 11:00 at the latest.

Also, the 2 drunk kids that were "announcing" the crate late model class need to stay in the bar and out of the announcers booth. The actual race fans could care absolutely less about their drunken escapades.

I agree nobody cares about how drunk they got it they should not be boasting about it all night . Just want to thank tammy and Kevin for a great show for all 3 nights

I thought Treb and Matt did a great job.
Those 2 drunk kids as you call them are our racing future. You are right they are youngsters.
But if you would of listened to them you learned alot from them over the weekend.
For first timers they learned a few tid bits.
Like why the cars swerve back and forth on yellows and before starts.
Why they reve their engines.
You had to laugh when one said it's to clear their carbarators and the other said something like or to show off my expensive motor.
Why they are running high
Or why running low
They knew every drivers names.
They knew who the driver was leading the National points and that in 2016 he was National Champion and what track he normally races.
It was like they were in the seat of their cars.
And I know it's not just me but we laughed our butts off w those two.
They kept the yellows fun with their jibber.
Come on now boys. Treb who's a 3rd generation into racing we all know him and it was his 21st Birthday.
During mod mania.
With his racing family.
At the stroke of 12:00.
Hell yes he got drunk.
The kid has never had a drink till Friday.
And his very good friend and racing competitor Matt was by his side.
For racers and their families the after party in the pits is a blast.
Most drivers stay in the pits w their cars 3 days.
You dont think them or their pit crews drink while working on their cars at 4 in the morning.
My point is They did great
They shared what went on in the pits after the races
And they got drunk.
Lighten up on these boys. Geesh...

Oh and yes it was a late night. They raised 33,000 dollars for the Shriners.
The car donation was awesome along with the auction
Then the out pour of 3000 mostly from race teams
Gus and I came out of the stands and donated 100 dollars.
I know it's not much but every penny helps.
Great cause. Great efforts made by many people and the out come was worth my time.
