Tri City Speedway On Track Improvements
Granite City IL. 10-22-03
The big trucks started rolling in about 7:00am and kept coming til past 5m in the afternoon bringing load after load of the mysterious black gumbo that makes Tri City Speedway the "Playground of Power" of the midwest.
Under the supervision track owner and promoter Bob Wente, and Bob Lidemen, Chief Grounds Keeper of Tri City Speedway, the deep black dirt was added to both the "Table Smooth" 1/4 mile and to the "Lighting Fast" 1/2 mile, the St. Louis area's only 1/2 mile.
Lidemen's expert crew went to work on the 1/4 mile, massaging in the gumbo, and laying the ground works for what is about to be the most exciting and most competive racing in the midwest. The weekly racing series will race exclusively on the 1/4 mile in 2004.
Also receiving attention from the Tri City Track Crew was the St.Louis's area only 1/2 mile. The 1/2 mile will host such special shows throughout the 2004 season as the World of Outlaws, The Xtreme Dirt Car Series, USAC and SCCA migets and non-wing spints, and several other "To Be Announced" big shows.
The on track improvements are just some of the many improvements being made by Track Owner and Promoter Bob Wente for the much anticipated 2004 race season.
