Belleville, IL – Movin’ Marvin Pruett, Dandy Don Klein, Cyclone Dwight Barbeau, Dan Band Eret and Don Odom are scheduled to attend the traditional Meet & Greet, taking place before the TTG 100 lapper, honoring the late Mike Meurer. The Meet & Greet will be held at the entrance to the track before the races, so be sure to stop by and get some autographs and pictures taken with some of the St. Louis area veteran drivers!

Mike Meurer, “The Talker Guy,” known by many as TTG, was the pivotal voice at both Belle-Clair Speedway and the Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. Passing away unexpectedly in 2012, Mike left an unfillable hole in the hearts of many. Countless racers and fans in the Saint Louis area grew up listening to Mike announce, his voice unforgettable and remembered by locals and out of towners, alike. Belle-Clair Speedway is asking fans to wear purple on Friday night in honor of Mike, as purple was Mike’s favorite color shirt to wear on race night.

Just an idea, how cool would it be to play some of mikes recording at intermission, would be great to hear him again at belle clair speedway.

The Wild Goose Auto Parts #10. No doubt about it my favorite driver of all time. Kind of partial I guess because he is my dad. I grew up at Belle Clair as a kid. Didnt really care about the races just wanted to play with my cars in the dirt with my buddy Billy Klein. Denny Rheinecker, Jeff Johns, Marty Smith, Don Odom, Doug Klein, Mark Schaeffer, Marv Pruitt, Gary Gerstner, and too many other names to list all in dads garage at one time or another. You had to drag me out of the garage when they were working or just bench racing. What a blast. When he quit he quit all together. Hard to get him to the races. I have all his trophies and pictures. Just dusted off the trophy from 1975 when he won the fair race at Belleville. I will twist his arm and see if I can get him down Friday. Glad people still have memories of those racers.
