Tuesday summer nationals.

Have never seen the latemodels at Fayette county speedway, seems like it would be a good track for them. why dont they race there every week. and was wondering if Billy moyer was going to come there and take the money.

the reason you dont see them every week at fayette county,, is because it takes people in the seats to pay the purse and you cant get enough people in the stands to pay for all the classes for a weekly show....thats JMO...and for Moyer you never know about him he likes to do his own thing

I don't think the Late Model class brings in enough money in the pits to pay their share of the purse at any track but that is what most fans go to the track for. People complain about local tracks running too many classes but that is how they pay the bills. Look at I55 Saturday night, the hornet drivers and pit crew paid the same as the Late Model class to get in the pits but only collected a small fraction of the purse.

True, but keep in mind it takes a whole lot more $$$$ to run a late model than it does a hornet.

i agree with you 22j. probably one late model cost more than the whole field of hornets. plus, nobody in stands payed 25 bucks to see hornets.

22J & bb21, you guys are both 100% correct but the point that I was trying to make is that the track is able to pay the purse and all of the other bills as well as try to make a profit from the money they take in from the support classes. Try running a track with only Late Models and it won't be open very long.

glbert i know what your saying! i think running any track with any cars right now would be a really difficult chore, let alone trying to make a profit.

Try running one without latemodels and you will not be open long, maybe a few yrs.

There are tracks that make it without Late Models and have been for years... Charleston Speedway is one of them. There is great racing in each and every class. If you go just to see the Lates then you are missing out!

It would be very nice to see Fayette run crates on a weekly basis! I would love to see the class grow to its potential.

That would be tuff to do with Tri-City running them on Friday nights also. Their car count is big enought for UMP bonus points to be awarded so it wouldn't be easy to draw cars away from there to a new track. JMO

Fayette county would have alot more fan base and would be able to have the lates or whatever class if they werent a dry county. I know for a fact that the stands would increase 50% if they sold alochol there. So if they absolutely could do something about that it would be so much better, its def my favorite track n the whole area its very nice and has the best payout for all the classes around.

Thats true, I completely forgot about Tri-City running Crates on friday nights!

Since when was Fayette County dry? There are a number of bars in Vandalia. Maybe Brownstown is dry. Liquor sales would help the track though if they could find some way around it.
