University of Northwestern Ohio is "Official High Performance Motorsports
University" of the All Star Circuit of Champions
LIMA, OH – The University of Northwestern Ohio is now the "Official
High Performance Motorsports University" of the All Star Circuit of
Champions sprint car racing series. Jeff Jarvis, president of the university,
announced the sponsorship deal Wednesday.
The University of Northwestern Ohio is a co-educational, residential, private institution founded in 1920. It enrolls approximately 2400 students in the Colleges of Business, Technologies, and Distance Learning.
In the High Performance Program students get to work with many types
of high performance vehicles. Many types of high performance engines can
be built using the fully equipped machine shop. Intake and exhaust system components can be tested on one of three flow benches. Ignition and
fuel systems can be tuned, electronic engine management systems can be
programmed, and engines tested on one of two dynamometers. In addition
to high performance engine work, student in this program learn to work
with actual race cars. Many of the college owned race cars and trucks were built by students. Students build the engines, select and install drive line components, build the roll cages, fabricate the sheet metal, and do the
initial set-ups at the University’s own race track, Limaland Motorsports
Park.

“America’s Series, The All Star Circuit of Champions” will present a slate of 78 sprint car race dates in 2003 from February to October in action at 31 speedways in 17 states. America’s favorite dirt track series is in its’ 23rd year and has presented fans with the largest average car count and greatest number of different race winners in the United States over the past two decades.
