USCS Outlaw sprint cars and Mississippi State Series Super Late Models headline Sunday “Speed Spectacular” at Greenville Speedway on Sunday (May 25th)

Greenville, MS – May 20, 2014 – Race fans get a holiday weekend double shot of speed when the stars and cars of the United Sprint Car Series (USCS) presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars and the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series Super Late Models invade Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi on Sunday night May 25[sup]th[/sup] before the Memorial Day holiday Monday as co-headliners. For the United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour drivers the event is number eleven of the 2014 season but only Round #2 of the 9[sup]th[/sup] annual USCS Sprint Car Speedweek presented by Hoosier Race Tires six race mini-series.

The event awards USCS National and Mid South regional series Championship points and is expected to bring top winged sprint car drivers from at least six states to the challenging 1/4 mile high-banked oval seeking a stop in the www.RockAuto.com USCS victory lane.

An action filled racing program awaits fans when things get kicked off on Sunday night. The powerful USCS sprint car racing format will include test and tune hot laps followed by the evening's first sprint car race, the Hoosier Tire Speed Dash that showcases the top six cars from the previous USCS main event in an edge-of-your-seat six-car shootout. Next up will be qualifying heat races followed by Last Chance/B-Main race(s).
The evening’s grand finale for the sprint cars will be the 30-lap USCS winged sprint car A-main event for the cars expected to reach speeds over 100 miles per hour at Greenville Speedway.

Five previous winners of USCS winged sprint car events at Greenville Speedway are entered. Those include past USCS Champion, Marshall Skinner from West Memphis, Arkansas who won on the series first visit to the track in July of 2007. Ten-time USCS National Champion Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee who won on the series second visit in September of 2007 is also entered as are three-time Gumbo Nationals Sprint Car Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas and 2013Greeenville Speedway USCS Speedweeks feature winner and 2013 USCS National Sprint Car Champion Derek Hagar from Marion, Arkansas. Additionally another Gumbo Nationals sprint car Champion Eddie Gallagher from Olive Branch, Mississippi is entered as well. All five of these drivers plus many more top drivers from at least six states as far away as Texas and North Carolina are entered for this special sprint car event.

The popular Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series Super Late Models co-headlines the horsepower loaded program with a complete racing program of their own on Sunday night that includes Time Trial qualifying, Last Chance races and a 40-lap main event. Two-time 2014 series winner David Breazeale from Four Corners, Mississippi and point’s leader Rick Rickman from Columbus, Mississippi lead a strong contingent of drivers anticipated to entered the series fourth race of the season. The action-packed racing program also includes the Nesmith Dirt Late Model Series weekly racing stars and the Super Street division.
