Vermilion County Speedway to host C.A.R.S. Special Events in '06

DuQuoin, IL- Vermilion County Speedway in Danville, IL and the Crate American Racing Series (C.A.R.S.) have teamed up to bring the C.A.R.S. Late Models to the Vermilion County Speedway for two "special events" in 2006. Both shows are scheduled to be Sunday night "special events", with exact dates and details to be announced in the near future.

" I am looking forward to having the C.A.R.S. Late Models to showcase in front of the racers and fans here at Vermilion County Speedway" said VCS promoter Bill Nelson. "I believe this class is good for everyone involved".

C.A.R.S. drivers who compete at these events will be eligible to receive valuable points towards the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series National Championship. The C.A.R.S. National Champion will be awarded the top prize of $10,000 in cash, a new C.J. Rayburn Chassis, a new Bert Ball Spline Transmission, & more.

C.A.R.S. Late Models utilize current area chassis & body rules. The only significant difference is the engines. C.A.R.S. Late Models are powered by GM Performance Parts Circle Track Racing Engines, a substantial savings for the budget racers over today's cost of current Late Model engines.

Vermilion County Speedway races every Friday night starting in April, with select special events on Sundays. For more information about the Vermilion County Speedway visit www.vermilioncountyspeedway.net
