CARTERSVILLE, GA (March 16, 2010) Series officials today announced a three-year agreement making VP Racing Fuels the Official Fuel of the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series as well as sponsor of its Rookie of the Year through the 2012 racing season. The VP Racing Fuels Rookie of the Year will win a $5,000 cash award at the end of the season.
In making VP its official fuel, the series will help promote CHP, VP’s newest racing fuel designed for crate engines. Although it is not mandatory to use in the series, CHP is specially formulated for the GM Performance 604 and 602 Crate Engines used in the NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Tour and Weekly Racing Series, and the CT525 Spec Engine used in the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series.
“We’re proud to have VP on board as the Official Fuel and the Rookie of the Year Sponsor of the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series, and having them involved with us will bring beneficial exposure to our impressive group of VP Racing Fuels Rookie of the Year candidates for 2010,” NeSmith Chevrolet Founder and Director Mike Vaughn said. “In addition to a marketing partner, we also have a technical and performance partner with VP Racing Fuels. They have gone the extra mile to develop the CHP fuel especially for crate engines, including the 604 and 602 Crate Engines, as well as the CT525 Spec Engine. CHP helps the engines produce maximum power and torque, while enhancing durability and helping extend engine life.”
NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series officials have amended the Fuel Rule in the 2010 rulebook to accommodate CHP. The 2010 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Rule Book can be viewed online at www.nesmithracing.com.
"We're excited about becoming the Official Racing Fuel of the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series and the opportunity to introduce CHP to their racers," said Steve Scheidker, VP’s Director-Marketing & Communications. "CHP stands for 'Crate HorsePower' for good reason. We anticipate that once racers experience the increases in power and torque along with its ability to suppress engine operating temperatures—all for a competitive price—CHP will quickly become their fuel of choice.”
