Kyle Larson finally took the focus off of that "green" car,for a while...Very Scary! I'm just glad he still has feet....WOW! What a Finish! :)
 
Really scary and we are praying for the ones who got hurt. Nascar needs to do repackage their big track racing before people in the stands pay for the price. No blocking...slower speeds would help alot!
 
I agree!! ive said for years........slow them to 180 but give them the motor to pass and it would make for better racing. Get rid of the plates but lower the fuel injector size...........pressure..........or cubic inches but give them power to pass when needed. And if you block you get penalized. That needs to be a rule enforced 100 percent. That is what killed Dale in 01 but they seem to worry more about safer barriers than making the drivers actually race each other clean.
 
did they go away from the tethering of parts not sure if that would've worked completely in this instance but you never know
 
Parts are still tethered, unfortunately the tethers were sheered away in this accident. The tethers are just a heavy rope with a thick plastic in the center of the hole where it is attached.
 
Good article dirt hound. Wheel went over the fence after the saftey poles sheered the cars front end parts. Need to keep the cars from getting up there somehow. Can you imagine if those poles had cut the car further up? Thats what killed Dan Wheldon. I dont have an answer as to how but they need to come up with something. Moving people up rows will not solve the problem. What if someone follow Larsons car....hit the same area?? Would have been a bigger mess for sure.
