What is the deal race tracks?

The Late Model portion of the show last night was sanctioned and officiated by UMP. The call to put Moyer back in his spot was made by UMP not Tri-City. The call on the 808 car on the 1st lap was made by Tri-City, if you are involved in or cause a yellow you go to the tail.

Hope this explains the Call / Non Call.
Thanks, Kevin

Lets face it. The big boys are given preferential treatment over the local racers. Its total bs but it happens every day. Everyone should be treated the same---- period.

Who made the call when the 49 of Kern is trying to push me up in the cushion on the start and jumps my left front tire. Then he takes off, jumps the start and I get penalized back a row.

Rules vary from track to track. Some automatically send anyone involved that stops to the back and others try to make judgement calls. Neither system is full-proof.

In that case, I believe Billy should have been sent to the rear, as he drove into 3 & 4 way too hard on the opening lap and wrecked Chad Simpson (who had damage and had to leave the track).

Good point. You really got the bad end of that deal. I dont get why he did what he did........really messed up what was going to be a good start.

And im not bashing. But just making a point i think some people(certain driver's) are taking advantage of the fact if you knock someone out of the way and he spins........officials might look at it as a totally different deal than it really is.....or was. I liked what Bob Wente did 1 night. Took us all together and we had an discussion with him.........and fellow racers. Maybe that is what needs to be done? Like Wente said.....its not a race.........its a show. Slop it up..........and hurts everyone. Wrecks happen...stupidity is made.

I heard tonite by 2 different reliable source's " not sure if true " that a few 3 or 4 of the top sportsman drivers were caught with illegal adjustable shocks a couple weeks ago at I-55..... and was told to take em off by the next weekend which i find is a slap in the face to the racers that are legal and kind of makes one wonder what else these sportsman drivers are trying to get by with.......just sayin !

You "heard" wrong......just sayin!

I don't blame that driver for doing it the point is the rules aren't being enforced. I point out this incident because it’s such a clear case of an intentional caution. This happens to some degree numerous times each night. Besides grouping the field back together, which takes away the excitement of the leaders dealing with lap traffic, think of all the time that’s wasted. If the 01 wants to pull onto the track from the infield and stop they can black flag him too. As Jimmy D. asks “What has happened to officiating?”
I am not about to put words into Jimmys mouth, but where was he standing during the races ? Incase you wasnt aware he was in the middle of 3 an 4 most the night and had a good view of it ! I spoke with the cornner flagman after the race and he advised me he didnt see it. My question is someone has the final call whether it comes from the flag stand or the tower. I feel the wrong call was made and the driver made the right decession, after all put yourself in his shoes. Im sure you would have done the samething along with myself in order to try and redeem all the positions you lost out on. Without him pulling onto the track and stopping there was no way in heck he would have gained anything back.

I did it to night spun wasnt going to pull out in front of the leader when he came around sat at the edge in front of the offcial with arm up and nothing. Not right to pull out and stop to many things can happen some one could not see u and make junk things cost to much to be an idiot.

I thought the same thing when I saw the in-car from Harrison. Pretty chitty non-call. Sportsmanship is becomming extinct,I can't beat you so I'll beat on you. What a crock!!!!!!!

The problem is that most tracks just send the cars that actually stop to the back. To me this says that it is ok to hit & run. Then they wonder why they have so many fights.

As a racer who spectates at your track plenty, your call of who is in a caution needs to be looked at. To many times people just stand on the gas and drive through somebody to make it through your so called cautions and get there spot back. I've seen it to many times who people put a bumper on them and stay in it cause they didnt stop. I agree with the officiating as a whole. Not just picking on you kevin. I agree with Cummins, I am tired of non drivers using the whole track when they are running mid pack. Run one line or get used up!

Went to the races last night at Farmington and saw a call that made me think of this thread. In the first Pure Street heat after some early three wide racing a car finally broke out front. Between turns 1 & 2 one of the cars the leader had been battling with bumped him hard enough to send him around bringing out a caution. I don’t think it was intentional just hard racing. Anyway the leader got his position back, the announcer saying he had “help” with the spin and the car which made contact was put to the rear. The leader was the only car which came to a stop.

It was so refreshing to see officials who actually do some officiating. Only saw this happen once, probably because them boys are careful about hammering on other cars lest they end up being put to the rear. Thumbs up to St. Francois County Raceway for getting it right!
