Inside Line Promotions - DODGE CITY, Kan. (Oct. 25, 2018) - Greg Wilson registered a pair of 20th-place results last weekend during his final two World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series races of the season in the Midwest.
Wilson and his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Alloy Wheels sponsored team began the action on Friday at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., during the FVP Platinum Battery Shootout.
"The track was pretty fast all night so it was tough to make passes," he said. "Unfortunately, our qualifying result wasn't as good as we wanted and put us in a hole. We made the best of the situation and moved forward in the main event. Although we didn't get the result we wanted, it was our third time at the track and was a good night to continue learning the setup for racing that place."
The weekend concluded on Saturday at Dodge City Raceway Park for the Outlaw Boot Hill Showdown.
"We ran a little better to start the night before ending 20th in the A Main," he said. "It was our debut at the track. It's a nice facility and I'll look forward to going back. You can usually improve quite a bit between your first and second races at a track so I can't wait to return there in the future to show our growth."
The competition shifts to Central Pennsylvania for the famed Tuscarora 50 this Friday and Saturday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa. The finale pays a whopping $51,000 to win.
"This is a huge event that will have a lot of great drivers competing," he said. "Port Royal is a big, wide track. I'm not sure how the weather is going to affect the racing, but it should be a fun weekend if the track widens out and we get a couple of lanes to race on."
Wilson's career-best World of Outlaws result at the half-mile oval came in 2015 when he maneuvered to a seventh-place finish.
