Lewisburg’s David Gentry became the first two time feature winner Saturday night by out dueling first Randy Gifford then points leader Jerry Ashley for the win. Defending champion Jerry Ashley saw his points lead evaporate as Gentry’s victory vaulted the middle Tennessee legend into a tie atop the 2004 season point standings. Randy Gifford started on the front row and after an early race duel with Gentry, in which Gifford actually nosed in front on a couple occasions, Randy fell back several spots before a late race caution and rally netted Gifford a third place finish.

The effort of the evening certainly belongs to Shelbyville native Josh Lunsford. The former 2-BBL champion arrived late and without any practice timed in fifth quickest. Josh was pushing the leaders when he brought out the caution flag and was sent to the rear. Josh Lunsford would come from dead last on the field to finish fourth and push the lead trio at the checkered flag in the "Arnold’s Body Shop" Late Model main event to cap a fine run by the young hot shoe. Jeremy Taylor shook off some of his early season misfortunes to take fifth spot ahead of Jamie Louden. Gentry set quick time with a 15.65 mark.

"Fire Daddy" Jim Hill wasted no time in taking advantage of the opportunity and would not be denied victory in perhaps the best battle of the night. Johnny Payne was third with Butch Scott and Jeff Woods taking fourth and fifth. Jim Hill also won his heat race to complete a perfect night for the veteran front runner.
