Farmington, MO (May 24) -- Memorial Day weekend, $2000 to win for Sprints, cool temperatures, great crowd and tremendous racing. I doesn’t get any better than this.

Tommy Worley, Jr., Farmington, MO made it to the winners circle for the first time in 2008. In his familiar yellow #97, Worley would start the feature outside the front row. Getting the jump at the start over Steve Short and Jason Keith. Handling traffic at will, Worley made it look easy. Worley, Keith, Joey Montgomery, Short and Bryan Matthews conclude the top five.

One caution during the 25 lap event came out for Brad Yoder.

“Hurricane” Mike Francis, Fredericktown, MO claims the honors for the third week in a row after a tough battle with Brent Thompson.

Francis raced to the lead at the flag followed by Thompson, Matt Eaton, Jeremy Greenwalt and Kenny Harris. These drivers would alter positions for several laps. When the leaders got into heavy traffic Thompson, had his chance to get the lead. He made the pass, only to see the caution flag displayed. Going back to the last completed scored lap, Thompson returned to second in the line-up.

Restart found Francis pulling away quickly. Billy Smith, Started 11th, had found his way to the top five and was in a position to advance. However, Smith would throw a tire and be finished for the night.

Francis, Thompson, Kasey Nations, Tommy Worley, Sr., and Jeremy Greenwalt are the top 5.

Another three time winner. In our Pure Street Division, John Bohn, Farmington, MO had another dominating performance in his Chris Boyd owned machine. Grabbing the lead on the initial start he was never headed. This feature would go flag to flag. No caution periods. However, at the time of this writing, the winners cars is being torn down. Track rules state that after three wins in the division a tear down in mandatory.

Bohn, Mike Savage, Bill Skaggs, Brian Stephens (substituting for Eric Sarakas), and Keith Kennon complete the top five.

“Super Dave” destroyed the field in the 600 Multi Division and got his first win in 2008.

Jimmy Bridgeman tried to reel the leader in, but to no avail. Bridgeman wound up second, James Scott, third followed by two time winner Ryan Kempin and last weeks winner Joe B. Miller finishing fifth.

Racing will continue next Saturday night as the Pure Street Division will race for $600 to win. Can John Bohn rise to the occasion or will we see a different winner next week. Make plans to attend. See the complete schedule on the website www.sfcr-online.com.
