Yeager, DeVilbiss due at Atomic to decide EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour title

ATOMIC CITY, Idaho (Sept. 14) – The drivers who won the last two EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour championships travel to Atomic Motor Raceway this weekend to decide the 2011 IMCA Modified series title.
Justen Yeager, the 2009 champ, has a seven point advantage over defending king Zane DeVilbiss heading into the Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16-17 doubleheader.
Both main events pay $1,000 to win and are qualifiers for the 2012 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Also at stake are a $600 share of the $3,000 series point fund and bonus points to be applied to national and regional standings at the conclusion of the 2011 season.
Yeager has been a model of consistency since day one of the series while DeVilbiss leads all drivers with four tour wins this year.
Pit gates open at 2 p.m. Mountain time both days. The grandstand opens at 4 p.m. Friday and at 3 p.m. Saturday. Hot laps are at 5 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday, with racing to follow.
Spectator admission is $20 for adults and $10 for kids ages 7-12. Youngsters six and under get in free when accompanying a paid adult. Pit passes are $25.

Ricky Alvarado has won three of the previous eight tour events at Atomic. DeVilbiss has made the tow home with two trophies, while Ryan Cotrell, Travis Metz and Yeager have each won once there.
One hundred and fifteen different drivers from 11 states – Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Wyoming, and the Canadian province of Alberta – have competed thus far in the fifth annual tour.
