OT...Don't like politics or war...don't click!

Illinois is trying to make pay back taxes on a year I didn't work in Illinois unless the move Lambert field lol

If you lived in IL and worked in MO then you have to pay taxes in both states. I have no idea where you lived that year or even now.

because the accountant screwed up and tried fixing ii even called the but just most politician in Illinois they don't have a clue

A traveller wandering on an island inhabited entirely by cannibals comes upon a butcher shop. This shop specialised in human brains differentiated according to source. The sign in the shop read:
Artists' Brains $9/oz
Philosophers' Brains $12/oz
Scientists' Brains $15/oz
Republicans' Brains $19/oz
Democrats' Brains $2,000/oz

Upon reading the sign, the traveller noted, "My those Democrats' brains must be popular!" To which the butcher replied, "Are you kidding! Do you have any idea how many Democrats you have to kill to get a ounce of brains?!"

A lot of my vote goes with who deserves to be there, and I just cant see where Hillary or Obama really deserves!!!!

Senator Hillary Clinton was invited to address a major gathering of the American Indian Nation two weeks ago in upper New York State. She spoke for almost an hour on her future plans for increasing every Native American's present standard of living, should she one day become the first female President. She referred to her career as a New York Senator, how she had signed "YES" for every Indian issue that came to her desk for approval.

Although the Senator was vague on the details of her plan, she seemed most enthusiastic about her future ideas for helping her "red sisters and brothers".

At the conclusion of her speech, the Tribes presented the Senator with a plaque inscribed with her new Indian name - Walking Eagle. The proud Senator then departed in her motorcade, waving to the crowds.

A news reporter later inquired to the group of chiefs of how they come to select the new name given to the Senator.

They explained that Walking Eagle is the name given to a bird so full of **** it can no longer fly.

I went back and read every one of Kings post and did not see were he said he was voting for Obama nor did he say he was voting for Clinton. He didn't even say he was voting for a democrat but from what I read he is not voting republican.

No matter if it is a republican or democrat the government has the right to take land.

eminent domain:
a right of a government to take private property for public use by virtue of the superior dominion of the sovereign power over all lands within its jurisdiction
Then who or what is he going to vote for? He's only going to have tw choices.

Gosh, I should start a liberal website and make up my own charts and statistics. Had those charts been from a reputable independant nonpartisan source they might have meant something. I went to TaxFoundation, couldn't find anything remotely close to a chart that reflected those numbers. Heck, I can shave my dogs butt and make him look like a one-eyed unicorn. Doesn't mean he is.

Typical Democrat. First you asked for facts. Bopper brings them. When you don't like the results, you bash the authenticity of the findings. What websites would you consider reputable? Maybe ones with a liberal slant. Bye the way, where are your charts and what source do you derive your opinions from anyway, since you are challenging Bopper's.

Conspiricy, Conspiricy.....We republicans are all trying to ruin the country. We want to preserve the life of the helpless (Dems want to legalize medical murder). But, they want to protect the health of those that have the right to chose. (Smoking ban in public areas. I don't smoke, but if I don't like it, I can leave). Does the child in the womb have that choice? Dems say, " Its a woman's body, and she has the right to choose." I agree totally, she does have the right to choose, she can choose not to engage in conduct that could produce a life altering consequence.

Republicans want everybody working. Dems want to take the wealth away from those that do, and give it to those that don't, proporting them as "helpless". Give me a Break. Albiet, republicans would rather everybody be working for migrant worker wages. But, that's my axe to grind.

Dems want to take away your right to bear arms, Why? Afraid of something? Like maybe....... Revolution?

Fact. If you believe in at least ONE immoral vice (subject that inhibits the rights of ones right to Life, Liberty, and right to pursue happiness) strong enough to buy all immoral vices, then by all means vote democrat. If any one of your personal IMMORAL vices is outweighed by another..... You must vote WITH the Moral Majority and vote Republican (even if the choice is a crappy one).

Quote from Heritage.org "
During the post-Reagan era, the economy has experienced its worst seven-year performance since the end of World War II.
Real median family income, the best measure of living standards for the average American, has fallen by more than $2,000 since Reagan left office.

So if our economy runs in 6-10 year cycles as someone stated earlier, then Reagan is responsible for the ruination of the economy that Heritage.org states began in 1994 while Clinton was in office. I'll agree with that. If it were a republican making this remark about a democrat who had just left office, The story would be that it just takes time to right the ship from a bad administration.

Quote from ThePlummer
"All in all, you have been decieving yourself for far too long. Do a little research and you'll find that when business get taxed, the economy suffers, Mainly because the manufacturers have to raise prices to cover the extra overhead. Results, the consumer pays all taxes anyway, so why hide the taxes in the goods and services that we buy. "

I own my own business. Three of them. I've done the research (show Us), I know how profitable my businesses were during which administrations. Deceiving myself....I don't think so. Just smart enough not to have the wool pulled over my eyes. Not once during the Clinton admin. did I ever raise retail prices. One year after Bush II came into office I raised them twice in one year.

And please explain the correlation between raising income tax and retail prices. You own three businesses and don't understand that if you make 50K profit and have to pay 5% taxes on that profit or have to pay 10% taxes on the profit, why you'd have to raise retail prices to make the same Net profit. How do you manage to stay in business not understanding this concept?

How is it possible to raise retail prices to offset an increase in income tax and not pay the same amount of taxes? You would still be making the same amount of profit/income wouldn't you? DO THE MATH.

Truthfully, how can you be a Republican and sleep at night?

king
Notice how King redirects the arguement when particular points are proven not to be supporting his agenda. This is a redirecting tactic used by professional debators, that have no substance to support their arguement.

First he brings up Republicans as WAR MONGERS. He's quickly proven wrong. All of a sudden this topic is dropped from conversation.

Then in an earlier post King cites that an economy is directly and nearly immediately the fault of the current administration. But, when facts are provided to show that the economy was worse under a democratic power (and he cannot refute them, other than to claim that the statistics are somehow flawed, again with no supporting evidence), then he cites my statement and one other(that I nor anyone else have not yet supported by facts), and agrees that it takes 6 to 10 years for the policies of an administration to take affect. Typical political twisting of facts. Clouding the two to satisfy his own agenda.

A note to all dissatisfied, rationally thinking, registered voters. Just because you don't like the choices, don't EVER give up your right to be heard. A major part of being a responsible adult in this world is to have to agree with and support things that you don't totally agree with. You must choose the lessor of two evils, in almost all cases.

King, just look at one more thing and please be objective here. Look at difference in the economic strength of the individual states that are traditionally dominated by democrats and republicans. You'll find out that tradionally republican states are in better financial condition than traditionally held democratic states. Why is that true if the economy, in the entire US, is better during democratic authority than republican?

If you'll notice. Traditionally democratic states, like California (I know Arnold calls himself Republican, Believe me, He's not), New Hampshire, Connecticut, New York, and most eastern seaboard states are in dire financial straits. And property taxes are way out of proportion. Imagine paying a monthly property tax that is higher than your house payment. That is a fact on the eastern seaboard.

Heck, you don't have to look very far. Just look at Missouri for a minute. Remember One term Bob (Holden)? He had us nearly bankrupt in just one term. Not to mention that he still has not paid for his inauguration (spelling). Remember the cuts that had to be made to bring our budget back in line, notice who took the bull by the horns and made the unpopular, necessary, choice to bring the budget back into line.

Sometimes the medicine tastes REALLY BAD, but you still have to take it to get better.

It's pretty bad when our own government sends the message to the people of our country that they are not the workers of choice to build equipment for our own military.

Gas taxes

Also if you look the more democrats in most states the higher the gas tax. All you have to do is look at Illinois (democrat) compared to Missouri (republican state) That should be easy for even the biggest rosy colored glasses liberals. I think the most important thing is to list out what you believe and see who fits it best. Then vote ervery chance you get. My beliefs are: low taxes, right to keep and bear arms, small government, abortion is murder, the U.S. flag should never be desecrated, protect my racecar from tree hugging liberals, get the illegals out, quit sending money outside the country, fair trade should be fair trade and not giving foreigners an advantage (wage, pollution, etc.) Simple math right now says republican, if that changes I will change.

I support unions

If the teamsters were still a strong trucking union I believe these fuel prices would not be so high. Unions have raised the wages of every worker. I don't see any point in telling a worker he is making $60 per hour but send his work out of the country, that is what the democrats do and then tell them they are pro union. BS

Gas is cheaper in MO, true. But you also have to pay a lot more for your tags, because they charge you personal property tax on your vehicle when you go to get them, unlike Illinois.

They still get your tax dollars Bopper, just in a different way.

Neither party is very much pro worker, especially the Republicans. And I wasn't aware that the Teamsters controlled fuel prices. Damn, 25 years in the Teamsters and I missed that one.
