    Track Condition

All the local track managers should take time to attend a race at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana one Sunday night. They prepare their track better than anyone in this region. Granted, Tri-State has a lot more money invested in equipment, but the technique could still be replicated.

    Track Condition

Thanks to the absurd amount of water on the track, I saw more contact during pack laps than you do in some races! The track was tearing up all night, it was horrible. Whenever you have to bring a road grader out TWICE in one night to fix the track, you know you are doing something wrong...

    Bomber Class

Clay County Speedway at Flora actually reversed the order they ran last week. They ran Hornets, Bombers, Super Street, then Mods. It was a great show. Kept everybody in the bleachers until the very last lap of the night. Good thinking Clay County!

    Bomber Class

Bombers, Hobby Stock, Street Stock....whatever you want to call it. That class is the most underrated class in dirt track racing. Everybody gets caught up in the modifieds and late models and the guys pouring their hearts and souls (and wallets) into the stock cars hardly get noticed...

    Great Show Tuesday

A lot of people who write messages on this board give the track a lot of flack for things they don't like. But we all need to commend Mt. Vernon on an excellent show Tuesday. A great crowd, great racing, and we were out of there by 10:15 p.m. I know I had a blast! Thanks Mt. Vernon Speedway.

    Friday Nights

For those of you who race on Friday night as well, where do most of you go? I'm just curious what other tracks some of you race at and your opinion of them. I race at Flora, IL and Chandler, IN on Fridays. Flora is a great race track, nice and wide with nearly 3 distinct racing grooves. And...

    Cry-babys 27 Fan

Trust me, whoever wins the race, DESERVES to win. They don't hand out victories for free. littleFILK, you might be a race fan, but you have a lot of learning to do about what racing is truly about.

    wilkins racing

It was great to see BJ Deal steal the show in the Bomber class Saturday night. He dominated his Heat and the Feature. I believe that was his first time racing at Mt. Vernon this year. Good job BJ.

    wilkins racing

Do you remember... ...a few years ago there was a guy that could run with and beat the Wilkins boys. I can't remember his name. I think it was a white car, number 22. Jesse something maybe?
