2015 b mod rules

Charleston Speedway are on board as well from what I hear.
That's good news another track that will have the same rules all running the same rules. Did I say the same rules. For those of you that didn't read the posts right I said the same rules. Fords and dodges are legal at every track.

Why do the rules state crate and/or chevy bow tie blocks? That is what these guys asked and were told if thats the way it reads then thats the rule. If they wanted taken different it should be stated different. But pretty clear to me as to what it says. If its legal at highland then its not the ump national set of rules your running.

  1. Only Chevrolet bowtie type engines will be permitted. A maximum of 360 cubic inches will be permitted for any steel engine.

H.) As an option, for the 2015/2016/2017season(s) , a “Steel Block/Steel Cylinder Head” engine may be used. This shall include:

  1. Steel engine block, steel heads,
  2. Only Chevrolet bowtie type engines will be permitted. A maximum of 360 cubic inches will be permitted for any steel engine.
  3. The “Steel Block/Steel Cylinder Head” engine may only use one 500 CFM 4412 Holley unaltered carburetor is required. The local track rules reserve the right for carburetors to be claimed and/or changed (i.e. “exchanged”) for competitive analysis and/or inspection.
  4. Only flat tappet type cams and lifters will be permitted. Roller rocker arms and/or any type of roller components will not be permitted.
  5. Note: this engine option may not be permitted at all tracks. In the event this engine is not an option, track officials will determine the eligibility for a “Steel Block / Steel Cylinder Head” Engine. The weight penalties for the “Steel Block / Steel Cylinder Head” Engine must be applied in every application.

And it states the bow tie combo may not be allowed at all tracks? By the way the guy who needs to move all his stuff is done as well. 5 cars gone.

Fords and dodges are legal you can post anything you want. It still won't change the fact that they are legal. They don't need to change anything if the rear suspension if it's legal according to the rules for rear suspension on highlands website.

Your acting like sam is using highlands rules as a rule book. Your so wrong there but keep telling me im wrong. 5 cars gone. Rule clearly reads what i put. By the way you should read around. People are being told in different areas thwt if their legal at their track they are legal nationally. Not a set of rules! Its a track to track rulebook still!

Racin90 i agree with alot you say on tbis board but tbis is one time i have to totally disagree with you!! For starters read the very first thing posted next to H. then go down to number 5 and read that. No where does it say Fords or Dodges are not allowed. Guys need to read these rules and understand what they are reading!!! As i stated before i have yet to understand why everyone is complaining!! You asked for a set of rules and you got them! The ones who needs to be throwing a fit is the street stock/factory stock guys! They dont even have a set of rules! So i guess in reality for them guys it is a run what you brung deal then??

Blaster are you employed by Ump if so can we get your name so when we call we can let them know were our info is coming from. Thanks Jeff Gay

I am no way shape or form working for ump but I worked very hard to get the rules to acomadate the race cars that we have so we don't have to change half our racecars so we can race. Also so we don't have to change our cars to race at a different track.

First off I want to say I'm not complaining, I think majority of these rules will be great for the future of our sport, after speaking with ump and i55 owner, i55 will most likely follow ump rules, but they will discuss rules further after ump returns from Charlotte. Mostly due to a couple things like the lower control arm length which is just a inch or two to long to make majority of the used chassis out there thats available not work due to the lower mnts and cage location, so they are looking into possible provisions only by an inch or two on couple items so the current Amod chassis like impressive chassis and my own can be converted to run Bmod, such as a 14 or 15 inch min lower link, that's all some guys need and the cars can easily be converted and guys won't have to buy new cars, the shock deal is like the lower control arm, ump will profit from selling there decal to put approval on shocks, it's all going to be good for the future maybe not now but it will be!

Faustfan its all good. I know what i was told and from hearing what the 4 had to say and the other guy not wanting to cut his car up to conform to the new rules is why im saying what im saying. By the way none of them are near hear and all their tracks are telling them they are going by the rules to the T. Yea they could ask to run fords but also the track could say no( per rule 5). You all are banking on the fact if your highland legal your good to go. They wanted unified rules and yea they got rules. Also got alot of question marks and tired of wondering what each track will do with their own version of these " unified " set of rules. Everyone has their on opinions and its what makes sites like this good as their voices can be heard. Good luckk everyone and attend the meeting at tri city to see where they will go with their class

Agreed and good post! All thats needed is some give and less take to make chassis work for this class. Still its a track to track rulebook as you just state that i 55 will update their take afrer ump gets back. Maybe if ump sees what tracks are doing they themselves will adapt. But personally i see it likethe sportsman class. Put rules out there yet tracks change them around to suit their needs. And yes the rulebook even says tracks can do that. My biggest gripe actually isnt the engine or chassis rules. Its the shock rule and guess what? That rule has no grey area and ALL tracks must obide by it. Doesnt matter per track as it matters your buying shocksd with a decal on them

everybody needs to calm the fuck down. it is the first week of november. take your car apart, clean it up, fix a few things, and let the thing sit there a month or two. it appears to me they are trying to straighten out a set of national rules, they obviously have things a little bit mixed up but let them fix it. wow. are we racing this weekend? you people act like this is a life or death matter

does anyone NOT have roller rockers on their open motors??? of the rules that affect my cars that stands out---some racers nagged UMP till they made a set of rules--are the rules flawed??you betch-ya--can they be adjusted so as not to make at least half the existing cars junk--I would hope so--I would like to see UMP come talk to us face to face--civilly I hope LOL---like jimmy said-its early November--we need to chill a bit----------------this is lenny garson

@racin90 Then with that logic, everyone with a Brinn, Falcon, or Racegator Transmission is illegal.

J.) BERT type transmission: A BERT Type Transmission will be permitted. The BERT Type Transmission must utilize a stock OEM mounted starting system and standard flex plate assembly, with scattershield.

Calm down and let's see how this shakes up.
