Belle Clair in 2011....Lets give ideas on what to change

how about posting pro4 and pure stock results? i know it goes against 'tradition', but we are looking to move forward here... not backwards or staying put... LOL!!

when and why did thet stop selling programs.just wondering,i allways liked 2 c them each year

You need sponsors to buy ads and I think the last time that had programs was 2004. Since then they have been handing out the points sheets.

Good idea though.

i read the one post bot the reason being dixon and korte.ok lets do this.go look at a pic from the mid 80s.full crowd in stands.can hardly move.look at a pic froom late 90s.almost half of the fans gone, but korte and dixon still there.i know this is not the rite post.but som from the mid 80s till now drove them away

whats sad is there is good racing every week at belleville.and true race fans know that.but i think what drove most fans down there in 70s and 80s was the rivalries.shurm.eby.and klein.and after that.dixon.hammerly.and klein.and gundaker somtimes.may be stupid.but what do u guys think.

After figuring out your text message of a post, I agree with you that something has driven people away. Could it be there is no consistency on rules or the time the races get over? How about running the show in a timely manor (Belleville is usually done by 11, I know). I know there are thing that can't be helped that make the show run longer but some people do still have to work on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Last Saturday Pevely started the first heat at 8pm and was done racing at 10:30. Most of the drivers were still there unlike the nights they run till midnight or later. It was nice to be able to stand around and talk to the drivers for a few hours instead of saying Hi good race see you next week bye, because its so late.

I think the biggest thing that belle clair could do would be to please the fans. The food at belle clair ****S and is really EXPENSIVE. That is one thing that is an easy fix.

Allied, be consistant with your calls. everyone gets the same treatment. who cares who you piss off. Quit giving the ole "not going to put up with rough driving" speech. What a bunch of bull. When is the last time that black flag was used? Again quit worry about who you piss off. Learn to read your own rules and enforce them the way that they are written. NO EXCUSES WHY YOU CAN CHANGE THEM WHEN IT PLEASES YOU.

Racers, the cars are not suppose to get faster every year. The classes are suppose to get faster as you move up. example. not going to fast enough in a pro-4? move up to a bomber. Not going fast enough in a sportsman? move up to a modified. Don't keep asking to change the rules to bigger motors. That is what the differant classes are for. quit *****ing about pay out. 99 percent of the people that do this at the local track don't make a living off this. It's for FUN!!!!!!! How many sports do you know that you can partipate in and get money back like racing? joined a softball league, cost me $55 just for 7 games. No pay back at all except for the joy of playing. ask yourself why you are racing?

just a few thoughts i had. probably not many will agree with but oh well. This is a really good topic. question is if any one will listen. you think?

When I used to announce at Greenville I always invited the fans to go to the pits after the races to get autographs of their favorite driver. Then before the races were over I looked at the pits and saw the L/M feature winner leaving. After that, I noticed that this same thing happned at every track that I went to. That's not being fan friendly. We need to change the mindset of drivers to be more accomidating to the fans. Maybe just go into the stands and invite the fans into the pits personally. Do you ever wonder why there are so many people in the Tribout racing team pits? It's because they always have something to offer to the kids. That brings parents who become fans. It doesn't take much. Just a little effort, and especially just sticking around to meet the Jr. fan who just wants to see his favorite driver. JMO.

is the time limit the prob.cos b4 that there was never a rush, races done,go to the pits, talk to the drivers.noboby was worried bot the cops being called.

We need to make the fans feel welcome in the pits after the races. That will never happen when security chases everyone out of the pits before they have time to meet their favorite drivers (and some of them are quite rude). As it is, a fan has time to meet one, (maybe two drivers if they hurry) before they are told to leave. That's not very fan friendly. A driver who has just won his or her first feature has very limited time to enjoy it with his fans. That's not very racer friendly. I know it sounds like a little thing, but little things add up.

I agree with the people bring run out of the pit after the races by the rent a cops. All you hear is load them up and get out!!! Go to highland you see people in the pits as long as they want. And even later some time!!! Belle-Clair is it going to kill you to let people stay and bs after the races? It is friday nite!!!

re;food at b-vill vs highland...the food served at highland is done by the sharpshooters a groupe of folks that own part of the grounds, the quality is consistant and by todays standards reasonably priced,no more than 3 bux for a item and water is only a buck....their proffit margin is slim at best..........with b-vill the food service is a comerical venture and that in itself means higher prices (the burger is a deal at $2.75 but $2.50 for water is a bit high)tthe kids that run the back strech have always been polite,,never understood why b-vill changed food providers as the waltons seemed to be a fixture there for years

A lot has changed from the older days of allied.
Most racers pulled the cars to the track on open trailers, you could see the race car, sponsors and etc as it was being hauled to the track. Now a lot of the cars are in plain white trailers. It doesn't get people thinking about the races as the see the white enclosed trailer being pulled to the track.
I am sure I55 made more money on kids nickel night than they do on a regular race night. Maybe tracks could start selling discount tickets if a person was to buy more tan one nights seating. I55 has good concessions at a reasonable price.

Ive heard that about the enclosed trailers by many people plus back in the good ole days of allied we had push bumpers and rub rails and when people seen you hauling these cars to the track they thought umm the must have alot of beat em and bang em going on so lets go watch. Ive always said let a fight in the pits go for a while before breaking it up so the fans will go home and tell there neighbors that this sport is as good or better then hockey...should of posted that fight at BV in the news papers.... WWE = World Wacing Entertainment ! <---- sounded better then it looks..... lol

Belleville should change its deal with Allied,Allied is paid a fee each week and whether 100 cars or 20 show up they get paid. They dont care who they run off or jack around. This has been brought to the promoters attention in the past. Some guys run there every week and are still shown no respect and others show up once or twice and are treated like royalty and that isn`t right.Tommy`s ideas are all good also.If Belleville was having a hard time financially why didnt they tell the racers and fans before it came tot his.

It would be nice to see some support from LOCAL business also. (besides St. Clair Bowl. They do alot for us hands down) These surrounding business need to consider what they make off of the track in a weekend. I'm sure Dennys, Hy Ho, Fridays, BP, McDonalds, Hardees to name a few make GREAT money when the track is in session. They city of Belleville also needs to consider the revenue that is generated in the area. Not just at the track..It isn't just the track that looses when they close. JMO

Bring back the street car races like the used to have at the charlie bowl.....It was fun to watch people tear up their street cars.
