I don't see anyway they are going to get 30 lates unless they come up with a title sponsor and they have a good payout throughout the whole field. I doubt you see them run lates but, crates yes with a point fund between Macon and Lincoln.

Um, I wasn't talking about NASCAR. To clarify, I was musing on how entry and mid-level classes allow a little more each year until they become the class they replaced. It's been happening for decades, and pre-dates NASCAR, UMP, IMCA, etc. The point is that some want to keep pushing for more go-fast stuff that winds up costing more in the long run while purses remain the same. Promoters just can't decide to pay more because the cost of the cars are going up. Maybe it's time to rethink things and realize that if we are doing this as a hobby we either need to reign in costs or accept the fact that no matter what the purse is, more people than not are going in the hole. That's kinda how hobbies work.
