Bud Shootout - NASCAR - BIG JOKE!

I'm with you "Q". Racing is racing!!!!! It's been a LLLLOOOOONNNNNGGGGG winter! :D

So in your mind, a race that sent 13 drivers to the hospital and broke Billy Venturini's neck counted as a good race? I guess everyone's entitled to their opinion, but my opinion of that race was ARCA dropped the ball by not scheduling enough time for everyone to qualify...the defending champon didn't even get to qualify and neither did around 15 other quality drivers! The majority of the drivers in that race were either too old or too young. ARCA is nothing more than Frank Kimmel winning or whatever 18-year-old Hendrick or Ganassi is trotting out there and Saturday they proved they don't give a damn if someone is killed...

The Arca race was good.........HUGE wreck at the end

Nascar was a big Joke!

 I'll agree guys it was "AWFUL". I to really miss "Benny",he makes it so much more interesting and he's been on the other side. Hope they bring him back and Soon! Wishing you all a "Happy Valentines Day"and don't forget your "Sweeties". See you when the flag drops and the dust flies.:D

Just for the record my comments were in regards to the Bud Shootout Race only. I thought the ARCA race was a terrible display of skill on the part of most of the drivers. I enjoy seeing a good crash as much as the next person, but that was scary. Even the single car incident early on in the race that almost sent the car on it's roof had it not been for the fence was a bit frightening. Hope that's the last we'll see of crashes like that this year at Daytona!

Yeah, that wreck at the end was just unbelievable. I was sitting there thinking somebody is dead in that mess. And what the hell are they doing letting these guys get out on that track? It is just a recipe for disaster. It looked to me like the wreck was well underway and guys were still plowing into the smoke flat out. Of course, the only person who can really explain why they did what they did, and sometimes they don't even do that particularly well, is the driver. So maybe it wasn't stupidity, but simple misjudgement. But that was a pretty nasty looking wreck.

i think the shoot out was boring as all get out. my opninion and no one has to agree with me, much less this new media darling calling itself howard stern. that thing might as well have called itself jim rome. just someone taking the devils advocate position to see if it could get someone to bite. i do think the arca race was more entertaining. the trouble is ,the arca folks dont have the budgets or experience (with the exception of mr kimmel and a few other teams) tio take on the big tracks like daytona and talla dega.
its kind of like expecting our mod and less funded racers to take on the springfield mile.
some will try and suffer greatly. some will do well, perhaps by luck and perhaps by natural ability.cant blame them for trying but chances are something is gonna happen and it aint always gonna be good. just glad nobody got hurt too bad in the arca race.
and where else are the big teams gonna find out if these new drivers can handle the big leagues if not in arca? most arca cars are retired cup cars anyway.
the busch cars are way different

Maybe make the Shootout longer? And too bad they won't ditch the plates, then maybe they could get back to real racing.

ARCA race: Did anyone notice that with four laps to go, Kimmel passed the #60 below the yellow line? Isn't it the same rule for ARCA? And he wasn't just a little bit over the line, he was straddling it. He needs to move to Busch anyhow & let the other guys have a chance. It's about like the Cup guys racing in ARCA and Busch.

About the crash, it appeared that ARCA waited until they went green to abruptly announce that they were cutting 15 laps off of the race, then everyone went nuts. There were two hours left before the Shootout. Maybe Daytona Int'l shouldn't schedule things to close together.
