PLEASE ANSWER MY OTHER QUESTIONS TOO: HERES IS A SUMMARY
1. Do you or have you ever entered into a binding contract without knowing the details?
2. Are you complaining because you couldn't (or didn't) get in on this so called government handout?
3. What type (Year, make and model) of car is your "new/used" lease program car?
4. What type (Year, make and model) did you have to get rid of because it wasn't worth fixing?

Speak English please

DirtHound, Why do you refuse to answer my questions? Here they are again. Just give me the answers. Are you scared or something? There is obviously a reason that you won't answer these 5 very easy questions. Heck, 4 of them require 3 words or less to answer.

Please explain what Obama and crew tricked anyone into, and how this program is a debacle. (Other than the dealerships not getting their money in a timely manner.)

Don't know if the program is/was a debacle or not, yet. Only time will tell on issues such as:
Affect on the used car industry
Affect on mechanics
How many loans will end in default.

I don't believe any one program will change anything overnight. All you can do is sit back and see how it plays out.

It is a sad day to see the foreign companies out sell the US companies in our own stimulus program.

look at the cars being bought to replace how many of those are american made kingeddy answer that one, thepeole that try to do the right thing get screwed again Again I ask,who got screwed and how? You? Did you try to do the right thing? You purchased a used car. How did that help the Auto Industry?

Most (not all) of those cars are assembled in the US. And no, not all of the Automobile Mfg are American owned and yes the profits do go elsewhere. (remember your a proponant of free trade..maybe you should re-think your position on that instead of bashing this program) But the workforce of those plants is 100% US citizens who live, breath, spend, and keep the economy in this country moving.
Georgetown-Kentucky and East Liberty-Ohio come to mind immediately and I'm sure there are hundreds of other similar towns who will be directly stimulated as a result of those employees knowing there jobs are a little more secure. I'm sure the small business owners in those towns are feeling the impact too. It may be temporary (maybe not) but it may just be the corner some people and/or businesses need to turn to keep them going.

,if the dealers were agressive inthe first place we wouldn't have this mess if the manufacters would build what the people want duh they would not be bankrupt , And that is not the governments fault, now is it? Unless you of course want the government to dictate to them exactly what they can and can't build and sell. But uh oh, wait a minute, wouldn't that be socialistic?

I was told whenI bought my car to no help from the cars act that vehicel Of course not, your car wasn't eligible. It was a USED CAR!

was one the hottest going for that manufacter what doe GM PLAN THEY ARE PLANNING TO DROP THEM Once again, whose fault is that?

bama dropped the ball by not having inplace for the dealers either and theire could 've been a better way wasn't the whole idea was tocreat jobs and boast the ecnomy I think there were 1100 addtional workers hired to help process the claims at the NHTSA. In addition don't you realize that the Mfg. plants are not idled down any longer? Even if that helps for only 6 months, isn't that somewhat helpful to those people who were laid-off and not working? Maybe 6 months is all some of those communities need to make a turn for the better. Or would you rather the government just give them welfare and more handouts? The economy was stimulated by it. Go look at the numbers. Advertising firms, newspapers, radio, etc. certainly benefitted from the car dealers expanding their budget to promote this program. The States benefitted as well in the form of increased tax revenue. Quite a few states are bordering on bankruptcy. Surely none of this helped them did it? How about the aftermarket window tinters, car stereo centers, etc. Do you think they might have seen a small increase in their revenues? How about the car porters at the dealerships? Think a few of them might have been re-hired? Car Salesmen re-hired? How far do you want me to take this Hound?

since when is buying a toyota prius helping OUR ECONOMY HMMMMM See above

an if the manufacters still building the gas hogs how is that going help inthe cuase for all vehilces to get better CAFE STANDARDS
I ask again, do you want the government to take over complete control of what the mfg builds and sells? Gas hogs like Expeditions, Cargo Vans, Buses are a necessary evil. Many industries use them as part of their everyday operations to move personell, transport goods, etc. I don't have hard numbers to back it up, but I would estimate that 50% or more of those Gas Hog vehicles are originally purchased as state or commercial vehicles. Do you want the government to take control of the Auto Industry and tell them they can't build those vehicles and offer them to the general public? That would result in two things. Increased cost for those businesses and states that purchase them, and Socialism. Perhaps you would like it better if the government said the mfg can build them, but the general public can't buy them. Sounds similar to a firearms ban to me .....and we know that doesn't sit well with the republicans.

Come on Fred, just answer my questions and stop dancing. I'm still waiting. Are you scared to answer those questions or what?

Bopper:

First of all that banking law you mentioned was killed not by Clinton, but by an amendment sponsored by Phil Graham (R)Tex. and passed with a veto proof republican majority by that 104th republican congress that you speak so highly of.

Second, the contract with America was not an act, but an ideal, and more important did they after acquiring control of congress actually follow any of those high ideals.

You get no points for reciting republican propaganda only actions count
Correct. Also, anyone making under 50K I consider POOR. The good jobs started going away under Reagan. Clinton screwed us with NAFTA too, so there is plenty of blame to go around. If Obama was white, all this bit**ing wouldn't be heard. If McCain would have won in 2000, instead of that Bush Buffoon things might have been different. Whomever has the most money makes the laws. We sold our souls to the Far East a long time ago.JMHO.PS,I suggest the education system failed some folks on here by the looks of their posts.(Spelling and Grammar) It's hard to be taken seriously when you can't follow the point!

Dirthound would not understand it even if he did read it.

And Bopper your on, ice down the beer, but lets not be stupid, lets call it a business meeting so we can write it off. I don't mind feeding from the gov't trough I get to meet a lot of republicans there.

Going to the drags at gateway tonite, I heard it is a great party! I'm going to get my big block 67 camaro out one last time before I park it for the winter. I'll bring the beer but it won't be a business meeting. Monkee business only! Everybody have a great and safe labor day weekend.

if more dealers would 've done this the cash for clunker would not exist
