Constructive Criticism for Ray Marler

Brandon, yes the small tired low horsepower cars do tear up the track the worse. If you take two 3000# cars one with 10" wide tires and one with 6" wide tires. The one with the 6" wide tires has a contact patch of about 24 square inches. the one with the 10" wide tires has a contact patch of about 40 square inches. This works out to about 1/2 the weight per square inch. There are other variables including tire pressure and sidewall composition. But yes a narrow tire will tear up the track worse then a wide tire. By the way HP generally doesn't figure into this equation because when your running the track in all the cars can spin there wheels.

Ok now there is no Allied no sportsman no pro 4s Now you all can be home by 9 pm But then you will not be happy OH MY only 2 hrs of such fun Yes the pro 4s need to run 8" tires same as on the Sportsman cars Then you have the other (half) of the people happy

Class warfare

Why beat up on the Hornets? They are almost 100% profit for the promoter--what do they race for, $50 and a trophy to win?-- and, compared to the other support classes,USUALLY cause fewer yellows. :)

Believe me, if I had a choice when I go to a LM or Sprint special between having to sit through 25 sportsmen and 25 b-mods on the support card OR 50 hornets, I'll take the 50 4-cyl. cars EVERY time, simply because they'll get their program done MUCH sooner--at least MOST of the time. :D

Sean2 I-55 did not make the decision to run or not run the Pro4. It was a time concern with extra cars and added events to get things done at a decent hour for everyones enjoyment. Last year they were left out. Since things went smooth last year it was agreement to add them this year. Believe it or not the Pro4 guys are considered race car drivers also. It was hard to ask those guys to come and support the event but don't be a part of it. As for the extra drivers and crew members that didn't even add up to the generous donation made by Schrader & Marler Promotions to the Special Olympics.

Why Don't You People Get It Through Your Heads. The 4cyl Division Was Brought Into I55 To Allow A Driver Who May Not Have Or May Not Want To Spend The Money To Race The Higher Division. Also To Give A Driver A Chance To See If Its Something He/she Likes Enough To Want To Advance To Higher Divisions. Yes They Are Their For The Money They Bring In Also. They Were Told They Would Run For Fun And A Trophy From The Beginning. So If Someone Has Built A Car For I55, They Knew What They Were Getting Into. If You Want To Race For Money, Go Where They Pay The 4cyl's.

I DON'T THINK THE DECISION TO HAVE THEM THERE SATURDAY WAS ABOUT MONEY. FOR ONE, MOST OF THEM WOULD PROBABLY BEEN THERE WATCHING ANYWAY. ALSO THERE WERE PLENTY OF CARS IN THE OTHER 3 CLASSES.

Even if the Hornet drivers aren't going to get paid, they at least deserve enough respect to be run something other than last in the feature rotation--and of course they were afforded this respect by being run FIRST Saturday, while the LMs ran LAST.

I think it is WELL KNOWN on this board that it's my position that the top class should always be run early in the heat and feature rotation. That being said, I don't like it when I see the lowest class at a track ALWAYS being run last. Take Godfrey, for example. Since the street stocks don't hot lap--a policy I agree with--they don't even get on the track until 9:00 or later. :(

And thats why you still go there every week...right brandon? Im so sick of seeing you bash Chad's track and all his officials...every time on another post...its ridiculous..it has nothing to do with how I-55 Runs their program...sure i agree they should rotate the car lineup but it really doesnt make that much of a difference...its gonna be a late night regardless..If you hate it that much..leave and stop bashing it and using it for bad examples.

You're right, it WILL be a late night, because no matter how they rotate the heats, they will still only run 4-6 cars in each one.

Yup, i guess they will, unless you decide to take chads offer up and try to help and fix every little thing you think is wrong with the place. Or maybe if you go help score..the night might go a little quicker

Brandon Paul----

If you were a regular at I-55 Raceway----you would know that the Pro 4 Stock guys ALWAYS run their feature first! The rest of the classes rotate each week!
