twin cam hornets on a 3/8 mile track is a recipe for disaster

shows just what you dont know . we race twin cams with singles on 1/3 mile at clay county & the singles usualy win soo whos realy faster and what disaster.when single cam cars are faster.!!!!!!!

mama duck if dohc is faster then why a ccs is the top 3 or 4 in points singles. and usualy the top 3 on a reaguler night singles. why is 3 of the winningest cars around (3 3e 8 8e 8t) single cams . i know all of eiserscars are not single cams but at least 3 of them are.joe only raced once at ccs and won .luck maybe. i dont know i was throwed out at the time.but in my belife the 1g probe is the winningest car in the hornets.they have won more individual races than any other modle of car.and tou all had your hands full with one of them single cam cars down at pinknevilli till he pulled off.tire size.that is the biggest difference any where. you hit that better than anyone else you will leave them every time . ask mark persinger . i changed tire size on my 6 he could not get away from me . i brought out a new car fresh with that size tire and started leving him.

jmo!!!

i think those s/c motors are very fast !!!,, but around here, where we run the d/c, thay are the fastest !!!

at c town its a d/c escort at macon its a d/c hyundia at farmer city its a d/c hyundia fairberry its a d/c mitsubishi at lincoln its a d/c neon
at peoria its a d/c mitsubishi i think there are more s/c cars out there!!!

yell i had my hands full at pink vill thats why i was fastest time , won heat , trophey dash ,and featur and lead every lap of all of them if thats what you call having my hands full so be it ! the eilers are my friends!!! and i would never say anything bad about any of them.

i cant say which is the best , but its not hard to figure out !!! i dont think there much differnce in the two !!!!!!!

the eiler boys are very fast and got my most respect!!!!!!!!

but on a big track none of them can beat the tiburon !!!!

i guess you don't know how to read...stop addressing your remarks at mamaduck when they are directed at joe...the post was signed fastjoe

Motocross racers are much more talented and rarely make contact intentionally. One doesn't just hop on a 450 size motocross bike a decide he's taking it to a track to race without a lot of practice first. Auto racing has a much larger element of contact. People hit eachother intentionally. Those contacts are much more exaggerated at higher speeds. The 3/8 mile track CLEARLY will hold a much greater element of crash dammage. Just seems obvious...the faster you go....the worse the crash. We're not talking about a 1/4 mile...or a 1/3 mile.....this is a big track at 3/8 mile. We will see.
For someone that knows little about auto racing I seem to have acquired a **** load of trophys as well as a NASCAR title in 2003.
Motocrossers don't talk nearly as much **** either.....and all of them have talent.

IT DOESN'T MATTER if it's a single or a twin cam......usually the fast singles are 16 valve mtrs with a cantilever system on 1 overhead camshaft. I won a track championship with this type engine(Mazda).
My point is that all the 4 cyclinder cars are getting faster and faster as racers get more creative. I'd just hate to see something really bad happen at big track speeds.

I went out to the track Wed. WOW! It looks like its gonna be stupid fast. I know I am changing/adding a few things to my cage. You never know whats going to happen but I at least want a little extra piece of mind. I would take a good look at whether or not your car is as safe as it could be. Not being full frame theres only so much you can do, but its worth double checking and rethinking. FastJoe: I don't even know what to say??? Congrats on your many accomplishments but... I don't think I have ever seen or heard anyone run their mouth quite as much as you. You don't even race around here and you are constantly disrespecting a group of drivers and teams that you don't REALLY even know. Best of luck.

i do agree with no bars in front of driver , the hornets are running highspeeds the cars need to be alittle safer!!!

No one person knows everything. This forum is intended to help everyone. By sharing information everyone here can gain knowledge.
To start a conversation with a past champion by saying" Shows how much you don't know" is offensive and doesn't help anyone make gains, anywhere.
Read my profile when you get time. I might have a bit more motorsports experience than you thought.

as far as safty goes in the 05 season at the vern i got rolled over 3 differt times in my mx6. never got even a scrape.mtv is supost to be a 3/8 mile track but in all realty it is a lot smaller than ccs.most of the wins in the last couple of seasons at the vern have whent to a single cam car also.in fact the points campion last season whent to my dad who runs a 626 2.2 single cam car bone stock . he wont do any thing that is against the rules. and everyone that knows him knows that is true.his name is d. newcomb.so if you think it is any more dangerous to run on a 3/8 mile track look at the sucsees mtv has had. as far as twin cam cars being faster i realy dont thick stock they are.most single cam cars have more toq. from the factery. they usualy have more ci motors.and all that = faster out of the corners . as for the pinkneyvilli deal eisier was all over you in the feature.ask someone for the vidio. maybe if you dont what people calling you mamaduck maybe you need to make your own user name

The whole point had nothing to do with how many cams a car has. It had to do with running a BIG track. Most of the drivers around Tri-City have never been on a 3/8 mile track. The faster speeds will bring on more car dammage, and the possibility of driver injuries. It will be critical to do everything possible to make the factory cars safer and survivable in a crash.
As A.W. would say....."I am now dumber for having this conversation"

all of us around the centralia area are use to racing on a 3/8 track.there is less crashing and less betting and banging the bigger the track.i would personaly like to race on one of the mile tracks.du quion here i come.

I think Mt. Vernon is only a 1/4 mile track. This new track is gonna be a bit bigger than Pevely right? Just smaller banked. The speeds will be much greater than on the old track and more than most tracks around and these cars can't take huge hits at those speeds is what gunny is saying. I really can't wait to take the tempo there and try it though.

These cars definetly couldn't take a mile track. You'd be going about 100mph down the straight and stomp on the break and roll a few dozen times. Guys would get killed there.

I personally think 3/8 tracks have less banging than smaller ones. Ive mainly raced on 3/8 tracks and have never ruined a car, nor have I seen a very bad wreck. If you build the car safe, then it will be fine. Moberly, MO is a half mile and I have heard of them getting up to 90 mph and I have also talked to a guy that races there and his car looked brand new at mid season. And dont think that the cars around here are slow, because they arent. Just build a car with safety the main thing in mind and there shouldnt be a problem. Its when you get unsafe cars or drivers, or both, when bad things happen.
