Dixon dirty?

You know alot of people like to get on here and complain about drivers, but when it comes down to it its 99% BS, except for the true Rogue driver. Dixon isnt washed up, or a dirty driver or competitor.

Anyone remember a few weeks back when Brian Collins broke a rear end housing in the heat? Ed Dixon and crew not only gave him the parts to get his car back out for the feature, they also wrenched on the car side by side with Collins to get him back out. Thats the mark of a true sportsman and a true champion. I'm not a points guru but without that help would Brian Collins have been the track champion at Pevely this year? I dont know but it sure shows alot of class from the Dixon crew to me. Just something to think about.

This response is coming from an ex Dixon fan. When I was little I thought that Dixon was a racing god. Now I see a hole new said of Dixon. I have supported him for 27 years and now it’s like he has no time to even say Hello. Believe me I know that when sponsors are there you have to take time to talk with them, but you would think you would make time for a fan. I did not nor will I ever clap when someone crashes. What I do find funny is that you can bet that a least 5 time in a race Dixon will smack the wall. He has raced 55 longer then I have been alive the wall has not change position in the last 29 years.

I also think that if Mike would talk about other drivers on the track things might be different. Every week that Dixon is there, Mike acts like he is the only driver there. There are other drivers out there that make the races possible too. Regardless of who my favorite driver is I don't want to hear only there name. Last weekend the only thing I heard till Dixon hit the wall was, here comes Dixon look out here comes Dixon. Well what about Ratajczyk, Oller, Collins or any other driver out there.

Dixon may be a good sportsman to other drivers, but to his fans.

Like I have said... I come to the track to watch the races, not a particular driver.

Dixon is a track favorite at I-55, this was apparent when he went out and the stands halfway emptied -- UNFORTUNATELY. I was on the judges stand and Mike covers the leaders and tried to watch the field. When there is 25 cars on the track it is hard as an announcer to watch all 25. Dixon is a interesting driver, yes Dixon runs very hard and uses the wall to stay on the track, from a fan perspective it adds to the excitement. Gotta love a driver that actually runs all out each race. In the beginning Dixon was running the low side of the track, that was odd to see. I even commented that he was trying to take over the top line, but (don't remember who he was running against) was keeping that top line.
I do believe if you listen you will hear other drivers being announced.

Now for the fans of Dixon... I have never had a problem with him saying "Hi" to me or my son. We will go to his trailer after the races and he will always say HI or even wave when he see us. I do not think I am the exception to the rule.

You must also understand that for every person that boos Dixon, there is a fan. He is one of the most popular drivers out there, and always has a large crowd around his hauler after the races. You have to remember that he's human, too, and just because he's not out everytime to sign your stuff doesn't make him a bad guy. I've seen other drivers that are really nice guys totally disappear after a race because they had a bad night and didn't feel like messing with the fans that much. Birkhofer is one that is always willing to sign an autograph, but he too can disappear awfully quick. Marshall Faulk of the Rams is another, he feels overwhelmed by his popularity, so he will sign stuff, just not for long.

thers a difference between touching and full blown pushing aside to get tot a spot ive even seen mike schulte race at belleville and not bump into anyone...and im even a fan of his...and dont you say what comes around goes around because hes finally getting what he deserves from years past plus i have multiple videos from years past and this year where he has drove straight through people so dont tell me hes a clean driver when i have proof that hes not!!

and what you said about last weeks news makes nooooo sense like everything else you write...get your facts straight first

Let me break it down for you. You say Dixon is " YESTERDAYS NEWS ".
And I said most of us would like to be his last week news.
Ahhh forget it most of us know what I meant. I feel stupid trying to explain some type of Seuss-ism to you
As for my facts they are pretty straight. And I have to agree some of the stuff I post makes about as much sence as your posts..... So we are even in the STUPID department.

I say put your money where your mouth is. If you have videos of Dixon running people over produce them to prove your point. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing. Only stating that it's worth more to prove a point and stand proud than to look like an idiot who's only standing on his own opinion. Show me the movies!!!!!

Dixon is one of the best drivers ever in a dirt late model - who else currently running at I-55 is in the "Dirt Late Model Hall Of Fame ????"
He has always been a super nice person to me, my daughter, and my son - anytime we are there. I have personally witnessed him helping out other drivers in the pits - parts, and labor. No questions asked. His ability to use the wall to make the car run the high line, and to "throw" the car in the corners to make it work where it looks impossible is what separates him from most other drivers - JMO. He's like Schrader - getting older, not winning as much, but HE IS STILL GOOD AND STILL COMPETITIVE. Evidenced by the two crate motor events he has won already this year - where how much $$ you can spend on a motor doesn't matter. If you want to boo someone - boo the guys (you know who they are) who do nothing but get in the way every week and cause problems. And booing someone when they crash is freakin childish.

dixon is not and will never be washed up if your all so good at racing get a car and show us:mad:

oh yeah?? if dixon isnt washed up then why is he thinking about retiring next year?? i thought that was what washed up meant but i dont know about you people you have different definitions for everything just to make yourselves look better

you find and watch the video from last august of the 100 lapper in belleville he and mark gansmann were running for second and when mark finally got around him dixon pushed him up into the wall to get around him...dirty driving??? I THINK SO!!! and you can find a few other nights from belleville where hes gotten into it with stanridge and other leaders

You need to get your facts right!!! I just got off the phone with Ed and he has no plans to retire.

Secondly, this post is about people cheering and clapping when Ed breaks or wrecks. We are trying to make a point that this kind of behavior sets a REALLY BAD EXAMPLE for the kids.

Ex. How do you think my 8 year old felt when she saw her favorite driver in the wall and the grown ups (and I use this term Lightly) two rows up are standing up clapping and cheering that Ed is in the wall? I'll tell you....HORRIBLE!!!

Yes, we are Dixon fans but we are also fans of many other drivers and yes there are drivers we are not fond of BUT WE would never act so childish and clap and cheer for a drivers misfortune.

Lets just remember that there are future racers and life long fans in the stands so lets set a good example for our Little ones!

If EVERYONE has a different definition for everything maybe your opinion could be wrong  DO I LOOL BETTER YET? :D

everyone is just gonna have to get over the fact that people were cheering when he went into the wall...people do that..if someone doesn't like a driver they can make it known if they want to everyone has their own opinions and different ways of showing it..whether it be in a calm or loud way...when i take my 8 and 11 year old nieces to the races not very many people like who they root for and everyone cheers when they crash or lose but my nieces are old enough to comprehend that its just racing and everyone has their opinions..not everyone can like everyone but i guess some people mature faster than others its just really sad that my little nieces dont take to heart what other people do THEY'RE the ones who like the driver and THEY are mature enough to get over the fact that people were cheering when he crashes or loses but like i said not very many people are mature enough to just leave stuff alone:D

tbag is right. everyone has their own opinions especially when it comes to favorite race far drivers when people have a strong disliking to someone they're gonna want to show it when they can and that's how they do it. its just another way of expressing their opinion. everyone is different in how they do that so you express your opinion your way and ill express my opinion another way and the next person will express their opinion another way and so on and so on. so just get over it!!

gee thats funny because i was there when ed told another race car driver that i always hang out with that he was THINKING about it

Bad Sportsmenship?

Well, lets venture from Ed Dixon to Chad Zobrist!...You win some and you lose some! They dont know how to lose....this is why people like it when they wreck, to be a good sport you have to know how to take a hit. When one of these two drivers get hit by another it is a huge deal...but why isnt it a big deal when they hit someone else? Oh and Dirt Girl...You just need to keep your mouth shut, it is all over the place! You need to get your facts straight before you start blabbing!

everyone is just gonna have to get over the fact that people were cheering when he went into the wall...people do that..if someone doesn't like a driver they can make it known if they want to everyone has their own opinions and different ways of showing it..whether it be in a calm or loud way...when i take my 8 and 11 year old nieces to the races not very many people like who they root for and everyone cheers when they crash or lose but my nieces are old enough to comprehend that its just racing and everyone has their opinions..not everyone can like everyone but i guess some people mature faster than others its just really sad that my little nieces dont take to heart what other people do THEY'RE the ones who like the driver and THEY are mature enough to get over the fact that people were cheering when he crashes or loses but like i said not very many people are mature enough to just leave stuff alone:D

I think it is the ignorant way he presented his post. As well as others. When you post like a villiage idiot you are going the bowed and arrowed....

And rightwaygirl2-
Keep my mouth shut... Are you nuts that is what I do best. And what facts do you suggest I get straight? You need to share them so I can evaluate your anal retentive comment. ( opps there goes one point ) . So you think it is okay to be ignorant when people wreck and could get hurt. What if someone wrecked everyone cheered and they were dead WOW !!! That does happen you know. As for being all over the place you are correct. I have been around racing here probally longer than you are old so I can be and go where ever I want if you have a problem with that share it now because if I am going to get days off it might as well be the weekend. :)

Your serve.....

I guess this means you are not going to tail gate with us Saturday Night :(

so dirt girl exactly how old are you...since you think you know so much... well let me tell you something...you're not the only one who knows a lot about racing..ive been around racing all my life cheering for my family and very close friends who are race car drivers so i do think i know something about racing so shut your yapper because im tired of you thinking you know everything there is to know about racing because you DONT know jack!!!

I'm not really a big fan of Dixon's, per se, but I do hate it when people cheer for someone getting knocked out. I remember a close friend of mine won 4 straight at Macon back in 98, and when he was blatantly taken out in turn four of the fifth race, the entire crowd went ape. Kind of a hard pill to swallow.

Ah, well, like they say, everyone loves a loser.
