Fastrak,Weekly Track in Illinois?

I think Eric was just trying to say that he thought a weekly Fastrak track in Illinois would do well. It would be the only one in the area and a lot of people have taken notice to that $300,000 Fastrak championship point fund. I don't think it was intended to start an argument by any means. I have talked with quite a few drivers & a lot plan on running both Fastrak & UMP, nothing wrong with that.

well

Sean you know i rode with Fastrak before and fulley supported them and would again but dang this sure aint the way to start up an Il. program is it? We all would like to see someone take the crate series that would indeed pay off at the end of the season, This would be a great oppertunity for Stan and Fastrak to step in and really give it a shot !

wow... i don't believe it's a real good reflection on your organization or an individual to get on here and call fully grown adults dumb, stupid and the like. i don't permit my 4 yr old son to use those words, even when he's talking about/to the dog. it seems childish to me.if your intent is to sell yourself,or your group, to a potential promotor or racetrack(which apparently you are trying to do) that's not the way to go about doing it. it impresses no one, and it certainly lacks professionalism. maybe that's why you have no IL racetracks to go play at. J/M/O.

Well said midget. Kind of my point.which was taken a little too harsh. I can read. I also can tell when someone is a smart.ya know. Thats fine. But when you reply in the attitude as you do anytime someone rebuts something you have posted, it not only makes you but makes your organization look like people who dont like to get along with others. May be the reason why your not in Illinois is because of the stuff like. My other point was it seems as in the first post< your kind of begging for an Illinois track. Well..get on the phone. Start calling. Posting it on here may not get the message to the promoters im sure. Problem is UMP is moving in on the territory and it will take alot to do. Good luck. Hope it works out for you all.

I will be racing both UMP and Fastrak next Year, wasnt arguing which series is better!

Wasnt claiming a Track in Illinois already signed!

Just stating that if an Illinois Track,is Fastrak Sanctioned , it will probably
work out very well for them!!!!

I do not represent Fastrak any longer, That has been turned over to Tracey Cottrell!!!!

Fastrak has been good to me, and many other Drivers, we need not bash them!!!

These sanctions are for the Drivers, why BASH!!!!

Just so everyone knows, my name is Tracy Cottrell and i have taken over Fastrak Midwest from Eric Rudd. Eric decided he liked racing better.
I have been working with several tracks to get more weekly tracks set up .There is none in Il. as of now.I do hope to get some there soon.
As far as Stan Lester and Fastrak has done or not done,i have raced with Fastrak for the last 3 years and the only thing that has ever been not what was said was the 2006 nationals. Yes Stan said they were going to be in Ky. and i was glad that i did not have to drive as far.I was not happy when they were moved but i went anyway and so did alot of outher people from this area. There was a good reason to move it, the track had holes in it that you could hide a truck in, so it made him a bad guy for looking out for the drivers and there equiptment.
Not a very good reason to bad mouth someone, everyone has there opinions though, just like Stan said if you have a problem with him, call him and he will work it out.
The orignal post Eric put on was just to say that it would be good for a Il.track to get on board for 08 with Fastrak. We have some very big things in the works for the weekly tracks and drivers that no outher series has,it will be announced just as soon as it is finialized.
Any one even heard what the outher series is going to pay?????
That is not a bashing remark it is just a question.

I hope to see all of you ( including the Il. drivers) at some of our races. I will still be racing this season too. So i hope everyone has better luck than i did last season in whatever series you run.

If you have any questions call me anytime. Tracy Cottrell 573-286-9104

everyone knows my thoughts on the crate sanctions.i will say i do respect stan and fastrak for the way their series is run.their is alot of smoke and mirros in racing,we all know that.lets not forget about our grassroots racing that we all grew to love.this BS of saying this series or this series is better, ect needs to just die.fastrak is a good series, ump crates is a good series, the cars series was a good series, they just had some trouble, they are not the first and sure as hell wont be the last.lets face it,crates have their place and are GOOD for racing, especially with todays economy.are they for everyone,of coarse not,but to keep the racing chain going, they are a great asset.JMO,im don with my rant!

good luck to EVERYONE in 08'!!

Some former employees bounced checks to me, but you don't see me on here calling them by name.

Hey Stan, care to clarify this statement? Because you posting this right after I put your name in my post showing how you do not always deliver sure seems to me like you are trying to insinuate that I bounced checks to you.

Fact is I have never bounced a check in my life, nor was I ever a Fastrak employee, so I really think you should do the right thing and come right out and say who you are NOT talking about when you make this statement, because I take a great deal of offense to you trying to create the impression that I bounce checks.

A GREAT deal of offense, as a matter of fact.

I think that Stan's post was pretty general. I am sure no thought that he was talking about you. Like the man said, if you got a problem just call him.

If somebody posts on the internet, they don't get a phone call. They get a response right here, where everyone else who has an interest can read it and read their response, too. You don't get to say one thing in public, and another thing in private. I have found that phone calls tend to leave a lot down to interpretation after the fact, it turns into a person saying one thing to you, and a completely different story to someone else.

Trust me, I have had a lot of experience with people who do just that. That is why I prefer any important correspondence to be done in writing.

I never have any problem with people posting facts. I do, however, have a problem with innuendo and vague general statements insinuating things about people, and that's not just stuff pointed at me, but at anyone on these forums.

If you are going to make an accusation, make the accusation specific. The way that is worded, he is accusing someone of being a deadbeat and writing bad checks and leaving it up to everyone else to decide who he is referring to.

In this instance, I can categorically state that he is NOT referring to me, and I would think a man of integrity would not want to be the one who left that hanging out there for other people to draw the wrong conclusion.

Back to the original comment......

I would think that with the recent announcement concerning the $10,000 to win Weekly Championship the chances are better now for a weekly Fastrak sanctioned track in Illinois. The payouts from Fastrak have been more than impressive the last couple years.

Illinois Tracks should look at this........

FASTRAK LM Series Announces New $10,000 to win NATIONAL Weekly Championship!
FASTRAK staying on pace with becoming the innovator in the dirt late model world of crate engine racing, once again creates something better for the ‘weekly racer’. The management of the FASTRAK dirt late model series (crate engines) although paying every track champion across the country in 2007, was concerned about how they could involve more people, not just one per track. “In most cases the Champion of a weekly track is decided as early as June or July” stated Founder Stan Lester. “What we wanted to do was figure out how to include MORE teams not less. I know the new NATIONAL system will keep more teams involved in the Points Chase. It just gives everyone more opportunity. We will keep our Regional Point systems in place across the country. That won’t change. We just wanted to do something to encourage more people that can’t travel to the larger races. I’m sure everyone would love to come to our $50,000 Grand Nationals at the end of the year but not everyone can afford to do that either financially or can even take the time off of work to do it. This gives EVERY team within the FASTRAK weekly racing series a chance to become a NATIONAL CHAMPION.
*Teams can race anywhere and as much as they like. They only count their best 15 finishes.
*Weekly teams can include coming to a Touring event as part of their weekly finishes.
*Must compete in a minimum of 12 races to qualify for the FASTRAK Grand Nationals.
*New points system for Car Owners as to assure them to be able to come to the Grand Nationals.
*Weekly tracks MUST use FASTRAK point system. Each competitor will be scored accordingly.
*Show up points will be awarded in accordance to car count. Maximum ‘show up” points is 15.
*Teams must run Goodyears 100% of the time to compete for pay out as posted.
*Teams running other brands of tires and or mixing of other brands will be paid 50% of posted amounts.

Maybe Stan could read this, and make things clear who is referring to. Make sure that people don't get the wrong impression.

Unless of course Stan's intent was for people to get the wrong impression?

In the absence of any response from a man who could devote 15 paragraphs to praising himself, I can only assume that was his purpose with that comment.

After reading the post from Stan, I had NO clue who he might be talking about. I'm certain that most people have NO idea, most likely the only person who does is the person who did. I didn't draw any conclusions on who he was talking about. My perspective after reading his post was that everybody could spill dirty laundry (which nobody really cares about), but it's better to restrain. We all have "dirt" on folks (hence, his example about the checks), but it's usually best kept quiet.

I'm not trying to speak for the man, at all. Just my perspective after I read his post.

personally, i have no 'dog' in this fight, but, if i had prior history as being associated with this situation/organization, and everyone knows it, and the head guy posted something like what he did, there undoubtedly would be many people wondering if this was me. i am sure that's why tnie wanted a clarification on who it WASN'T. you throw a blanket-type statement out there like that, there are obviously several people who he could be referring to. if it was me, i would want a clarification as well. as i said before, i have no 'dog' in this fight.

I agree, there are many people who will not have a clue as to what is being referred to. They are all people who have never been involved in crate engine racing, or they are all people who do not read the net.

In other words, they are all people to whom it doesn't matter to me one way or the other, because I have had no prior involvement with them. That being the case, they probably have never even heard of me. So let's move on to the people who meet the criteria for taking an interest in reading this post.

1)Crate engine racers-all who know I was involved with Fastrak.
2)Track promoters-all who know I was involved with Fastrak.
3)Friends and families of racers who follow what is going on in crate racing, so that they can pass information on to those they know who race crates-all who know I was involved with Fastrak.

Now, I don't think it is ridiculous to think that many of those that read Stan's comment that a former employee bounced checks to him would really be that hard pressed to wonder whether or not it was me, because they would probably not know that I was never an employee to begin with. In fact, I had a phone conversation with Sam Kizer last night in which he said he had read this thread and his first reaction to the bounced checks statement was to ask himself "Did Todd bounce a check?" and then he went on to say he had read my reply.

So you are right, there are many people who have no interest in this, because they know nothing about any of it. They aren't a concern to me. They are also not reading this thread.

I'm not asking Stan to back up his statement with a name. I am simply asking him to publicly acknowledge that he wasn't referring to me. I don't think that is too much to ask of a man who publicly claims to have such high standards of integrity, although I seriously question how high that bar really is. To me, a man of integrity would not be making blanket accusations at his former associates. He claims "disgruntled former employees." I think it's more "disgruntled former beneficiary of other peoples' services."

todd,i have been wondering for a while what went wrong with you and fastrak?
i remember when you were one of their biggest supporters and was just curious!
