ford diesel

has anybody heard of a place in effingham il. that sells diesel parts. i heard they have a good price on injector pumps. i think the name of the place is shee or sheed brothers or something like that. can't seam to find a phone # or address. suppose to be on highway 57?????????
 
Yes there is..ill try to get a name of the place..i cant remember them..but..years ago..they uped our 97 ford ..gave it bigger injectors...did some computer work to beef it up. Ill try to post a name..number tomorrow
 
not to be a pain in the butt, but did find that number? i am off work this week and would like to get this fixed before i go back thanks rich
 
Sorry..had to work...and had a guy who keeps bugging me about my car for sale..comes by every day almost..was here almost 2 hrs last night..thing is...he doesnt have a dime. Feel bad for him..but cant give the thing away. But...yes...thats them...they do good work...but we just goto the dealer now due to our warranty issues nationwide...good luck
 
There is a place in Carlinville, IL called Area Diesel that could rebuild your pump, or your could byuy a reman. Also, Taylor deisel in St. Peters Mo. I would call either place and tell them your problems. They are both great on fuel related items and are very easy to deal with.

well i was going to order the pump today but they want a 290$ core charge. ouch! couldn't do that this week so i guess i will order it from napa and take it off when i get home. live about 5 blocks away guess i can walk that lol.
 
i went up to napa and ordered the pump. it wasn't to bad they kinda cut me a break. do alot of busness for them. they asked me if my truck has a cold climate control intake on it. what is that????????? we finally called ford delarship and they said they have never but one on before but they never said what it was.
 
well i got the pump on. went really good but man does it smoke now. i am assumeing that there air in the line. i couldn't let it run for to long cause i had to get to work. went out today to start it and my dumb*** left the key on. so i got it on the charger for now. hope it will take a charge. spent all my money on the pump. god does it ever end??????????????
 
well it quit smoking at ideal but it really smokes when you give it some fuel. i called a place today to see if they can time the pump. got to call them tomorrow to talk to the guy that does there diesel work. guess i am throwing in the towel on it.
 
Let us know..pump timing is really important..i dont even do that..i send it out(special tools..books needed). Good luck
 
well i took it in this moring at 7:00. havn't heard from him yet. told him all that i did and he dosn't think it is timing. will just have to wait and see. will keep you and everbody else up to date. you never know when another person has trouble and they can come on here and maybe this will help them out.
 
just got a call from the shop.......... they did a compression test and #1 is about half of what it suppose to be. so he is going to pull the value cover off and check the values or worst case i have craked or broke a ring on the piston. so that is where i am at know. all i know is i see alot of $$$$$$$$ disapearing out of the check book. man this really s***ks
 
ok update time........ i have either flaten a lob on the cam, or the roller on the lifter is gone or broke, or value has broke. he suppose to be calling me back with a price quote. thye said that the lifter is really loose and of course it is not opening up and everything is going out the exhaust value. will have to see how much this is going to set me back.
 
they are telling me about 1400$ for a new cam and lifters. of course that is if nothing else is wrong in there. going down there tomorrow to take a look see.
 
Wow...i havent seen one with a flat cam..or lifter...but..not to say it cant happen. 1400 sounds little steep for just cam and lifters. But...let us know what you find out...thanks
