Former racers who have died

With all the specials that tracks are running any more (especially with the proliferation of CoC races), perhaps some of these guys could get a "Memorial" Race named after them.

I've been saying for a long time that Godfrey needs to bring back the Rob Jones and Denny Motley races. And adding a Hanner Memorial would be nice, too.

I remember those names, Cleo used to drive a little blue steel bodied 68 or 69 camaro back in the day. Seen him a few times at St. Charles Speedway in 1975 or 1976. Joe Waters used to drive Fords? Louie Janson was the Flying Chicken...lol

I lost my best friend,Howard Leonard, in May 1987 from a freak accident at St. Francois County Raceway.Howard raced the #64 sportsman car . Two weeks after Howard's death I began my racing career driving for his wife Judy (Mom). We ran 3rd in the heat, won the trophy dash, and got crashed out on the first lap of the feature. Howard will always be with me when I race...Faster you fool and Crashing ****s !!!!!!!!!!! The"Hustler"

Doc Ebert Died At The Wheel Also At I55 During A Play Day Several Years Ago. I Believe A Heart Attack Also. If I'm Wrong Loren, Please Correct Me.

Andy, I believe they ruled it congestive heart failure but not 100% sure. I know it took them a while to figure out what the cause was.

I have a picture of Doc in my shop of his last lap on the track that day.
