Get This....$200.00/barrell for crude oil

Does anyone know when the last refinery was built? Arent you guys the same ones that said the war in Iraq was for oil? If we switch over to something else besides oil like biofuel wheres it gonna come from, there is far less refinerys wich would make it higher than gas! State laws that every other state has, means gas in OK cant be sold in IL. Everything made uses some kind of oil base not just gas (plastic in your PC) Other coutries are using more oil...... but that oil is not top grade oil that we demand or need, most of the oil in Alaska is low grade that we sell to other coutries anyway. Moonflow you are an idiot! Our country was founded on christian principles. I am a God-fearing registered voter and will continue to vote for elected officials who have morals. HOW STUPID CAN YOU GET!!! I think you just showed me. I will pray for you daily.

You really appear to be God fearing. The Bible tell us not to pass judgement on others lest we be judged ourselves, and to love one another as we love ourselves. Your name calling and judgement passing shows that you yourself need the daily prayer. The Bible also tells us to be aware of wolves in sheeps clothing. Guess your 0 for 2 now. And since you brought the topic up, name five christian principles that our country was found on. Your probably 0 for 3 now.

Apparantly you voted for Bush, what is your opinion of his morals now. All he has done for the past three years is lie and deceive us, and Morals without Intelligence are worthless anyway. Apparantly George has neither. Look at the idiotic things Georgie has done. Two quick examples of his stupidity and upstanding morals:

(1)Sat idly with first graders (with a stupid look on his face) waiting for someone to tell him what to do on 9-11. He is the commander in cheif of our military and he didn't even have the common sense to scramble jets over our nations capital immediatly. Had he done so, the pentagon would have been spared. Why wouldn't you protect your command center in a time when our national security has been breached. Even the paintball rednecks know to protect the flag.

(2) Sat idly by (playing golf) while thousands in the hurricane riddled south struggled for survival waiting for someone to tell him what to do. Almost a week goes by before he decides something needs to be done? How about just a fly over the next day Georgo? Anything would be better than nothing. Guess he showed his morals by expressing his love to all of those who died and went hungry for the better part of 10 days.

The list could go on further than anyone on this forum cares to read about. You now it, I know it, and apparantly more than 60% of the people in this country know it based on his approval rating.

Looks like we got a wolf, eh?

I'm not totally sure what the laws are now, but less than 10 years ago my father drove a tanker truck full of gas from the Connoco refinery in Wood River, IL to Ada, Oklahoma. Not sure why this was done, but he did it three times a week for more than 4 years. And less than 7 years ago, he hauled gas for Sinclair and Vickers that pulled out of the Clark refinery in Marine, IL and delivered to all of St. Louis. So I do know that IL gas was sold in MO (and still is) and Oklahoma.

Also, if the Oil from the Alaskan pipeline is to low grade to make fuel from, why are gas prices going up because of its closure. And why do we keep a small percentage of it in America. As much gas as we refine, there has to be an abundance of crude-by-products to make plastic with.

Not trying to start an argument with you, but I highly doubt the validity of either of your statements.

And for the record, I couldn't tell you what the war in Iraq is for. First I heard it was to rid the world of terrorism. Then I hear it is to free the Iraqi people. There were no weapons, and those people never asked for our help. That area of the world has been fighting among themselves for years. Its a way of life for them. Guess thats what you do when you have no racing.

Ok, so they drift now. I guess they can thank George for that. LMAO

His legs are pumping so fast, now if we could just get the government to allow us to clone him, we could hook him and his bike up to the drivetrain in our cars (Fred Flintstone style) and this crazy gas thing would go away.

Did I actually see smoke off the rear tire?

I was told it take a year to make oil into gas. I don't know if that is true or not, but if it is then that means the oil we bought last year at this time was cheaper then what we are paying for now. So if this is true then no wonder they are making BILLIONS of dollars off us.

My Grandaddy used to work in the oil business. I think he said it used to take 6 weeks from the ground to the pumps. Now I think with modern technology its more like 4 weeks. Thats why they buy oil in what they call futures markets, barrel prices are 6 weeks in advance.
During the oil crunch of the 70's he used to drive by the refinery and cuss. When we were all dealing with HIGH gas prices then!!!!!, the oil refineries were stockpiling reserves. Many of the old tanks have been replaced with domed tanks so you can't see how full they are now. The tops of the old tanks worked on floatation the higher the ladder, there was more in the tank so you could see if they were empty or not.
As far as profits I am sure all of the oil based products are making them a killing as well. Look how much a quart of oil for you car has gone up.

The country was based on Christian principals, but is not intended to be ran by them. Hence the seperation of church and state. Look what voting on religious morals got us!!

TRACKLESS...The only thing to do is to get out and VOTE this fall. Shake up Congress and the Senate and they just might get the POINT that we as their "Constituants" aren't going to take it any more..... I am sure ALL of them have padded their pockets well. Its about time some of the VETERAN politians lived in the private sector for awhile and give someone else a chance to straighten out the mess our country is in..... this is NOT ALL just the Presidents fault.

And as far as the price per barrel I read yesterday that it would shoot up 10.00 a barrel ASAP as soon as the pipeline is shut down, due to leaks and stress on the pipe. BUT they said it should take only about 2 weeks to repair it. No later than 3 to 4 weeks shut down. I bet the Middle East is grinnin ear to ear over this bit of news, too.....:(

Today iselectioaccross Misso with th stae primari. So get out and ROCK THE VOTE!!

Customer of mine

A customer of mine is making a hydrogen/ gasoline vehicle. He has a basicly stock Ford Ranger with a 2.3L motor and converting it to run hydrogen or gasoline. The whole concept of it is pretty awe inspiring just by the mechanical concept and mechanical ingenuity going into the project. He has been getting differant parts from me for it. Next time he comes in I will get some pics of it and post them. Also, the cost of living has already gone up in the past couple of months, anyone notice the price hike in the electric, thanks to our beloved government, the electric companies have been deregulated. The price increase has already put a hurtin on people. Also concerning the fuels, the people that are going to really feel the hurting is the farmers. Kinda strange and ironic that when the main seasons come up for the farmers (spring time major increase in gas), the farmers are already getting equipment ready to go and start harvesting crops. Guess what, price increase in fuel. There are some farmers that are going to let crops stand becouse it is cheaper to take the hit from the seed and expenses then have to take a bigger hit running the equipment at $3 plus a gallon. Kinda sad that the farmers are the true heartbeat of this country and they are getting hammered the worst. Food prices go up, cost of living goes up, paychecks stay the same, less money to spend, lower amount of money spent in the community at local businesses, more layoffs due to less business, higher unemployment, more goverment money needed. It is going to come to a point where you are going to have the very wealthy class, and then the poverty class. No in betweeen. Think I'm gonna fill my freezer with a beef and a hog and buy ammo for staorage :p .

Easy now, easy. I actually know JAMfan, and this is an inside joke between me and him.

Hey kingteddy. I am so glad you didn't pass judgement on me! Hope you feel better. I have big shoulders; I can take it.

Sorry Moon and Jam, I kinda came unglued there. I didn't realize what was going on. I'm just a little:confused: on edge with all the crap going on. I'll go take a double dose of midol, a percoset, and drink lots of Miller Lite:cool: and just chill out for a while. :D

Understandable. The current situation in racing and world events isn't the greatest.

Keep an optimistic eye on things. Reports this morning say that the impact in the Midwest from the oil field being shut down would be minimal, at best, because we get most our oil here from the Gulf Coast. The West coast, that's a different story.

What does Algore have to do with this?

You are all blaming Bush for high gas prices (didn't know the US gov't set world oil prices and was responsible for the price of gas in China or anywhere else), his opponenent in 2000 was Al Gore, who wrote in his book that gas prices should be $3.50 a gallon.
He also is a very large stockholder in Occidental Petroleum, the company his father went to work for as a lobbyist after he retired from politics.

Who do you think he will side with-you or the oil industry? We already know what he thinks you should pay for a gallon of gas.

You blame government for high gas prices, then you expect the same government to "fix" the problem.

Isn't that like asking the fox to guard the henhouse?

People CAN afford to get rid of their Escalades. If they bought something that costs less to buy, they would probably have NO car payment (or very little, since what they trade in is worth far more than what they are buying).
Many people could probably trade them in, pay off their notes and still have a lower car payment-and then burn less gas, saving even more money.

Regulating prices of an open market is not the job of government. Go back and read the function of government in the Constitution.

Allowing government to regulate an entire industry has implications that would trickle down into every other industry.

Oil companies made only a 10% profit and you all want govrnment to stop it.

I hope no one else who owns a business makes more than a 10% profit-or makes more than 10% profit on stocks and bonds.

We may have to get the government to stop it.

NO ONE will do ANYTHING until the public shows-not just talks-but proves they want an alternative. Then PRIVATE INDUSTRY-not the government-the ones you blame for the problem in the first place-will offer a solution.

As fo E85, that isn't a solution, because it takes more fossil fuel energy to make the ethanol than you can extract from the ethanol. It takes more ethanol to get the same amount of energy as gasoline.

I thought racers knew this-or doesn't anyone run alky in their race cars?

Stop blaming the govrnment for all your problems and then asking them to fix everything. You're only like a dog chasing its tail.

Ask private industry-not government for an alternative. You might actually create a demand for a product and a company would provide the solution.

But then again, you would probably complain about that, too.

Cheap gas isn't a right as many seem to feel.
Stop whining and complaining and expecting someone else to help you.
Try helping yourself once. You might find when you aren't so reliant on others, things will change.

It really depends on who you believe on the E-85. Some groups say it takes more energy to make then it returns. Other groups say it returns a good deal more energy then it takes to make.

I could probably Google it and find a half a dozen experts supporting both sides.

Either way it means we are less dependent on outside fuel.

Also Ethanol and Methanol are two different things. Different costs.

Well, look at it this way:

gas has more BTUs than Ethanol.

Farmers use diesel-petroleum based, to grow and harvest the corn. Then to heat the corn to produce the ethanol we use propane or natural gas, which contains more BTUs than ethanol.

You're working at a loss from the start.

A car designed to run on both E85 and straight gas is a compromise at best. It needs higher compression for the E85, but that C/R would be too high for straight gas. regular gas, that is. Plus, once compression ratios get high enough, pollutants increase.

If you use more petroleum based fuel to make an alternative, you are still using more fossil fuels in the long run.

Now-use the ethanol to produce the ethanol-now ya got something. Zero use of fossil fuel.

Plus-part of the price of creating ethanol is subsidised by tax money-money WE pay to the gov't.
So, when you buy the E85, you're paying for it twice.
See what happens when you ask gov't for a solution?
