Then it's just one more thing to separate the top cars and the rest of the field. I have a feeling that most LM's and Mods are using it. If they make it legal, that means it will have to be legal in all classes. Ex. Sportsman, SS etc. Thus raising the costs even more. It's a bad deal all around.
One of the summer nationals regulars said that it would take over 100 tires to run the full tour. That being the case there is little possibility that a regular would have the time to treat tires. JMO
Also, an inconclusive finding by the lab means nothng. But Ump should have sent a sample for the full blown lab test. By not doing so they lose credibility. I see them falling short in a number of areas. For example--when is the last time they claimed a crate motor?
I just want to thank everyone for keeping this post at a "down to earth" pace. This is what I really like about the Discussion forum. Just a bunch of race fans sitting around and giving their opinion in a somewhat descent matter. I also want to say that my ranting and raving about a decision that really doesn't have anything to do with me (other than being a fan) is not really my personallity. I was mad, and fired away.
This will also be my last reply to this, as I believe the only way for me to calm down is to just let go and move on.
On a final note just want to say there are some on here who's opinion does matter to me, and others not as much, but everyone kept things in check, and I thank you for that.
Enjoy the cooler 90's weather......I know we will at my work

the ump cartel will never make it legal for one reason. It would dip into their pockets! They want you to buy as many tires as possible and something that adds life to them would cut into their kick back. Ump knows just like i and anyone else with sense that these tire test wouldn't hold water in a court of law if someone had the funds to take it that far. All they have succeeded in doing is making an azz of themselves and drag racers through the mud. When ump went from 1 man trying to make racing better for racers to a group looking to make money, it's been down hill ever since. They don't give a rats azz about the local racer. They care about making money and keeping investors happy. The writing is on the wall and if promoters don't start reading it and heading it. Their tracks will be a shopping center or a sub-division before they know it! It absolutely sickens me.
