hey bleedblue

i dont see how you could ban a guy for doing tire prep, that would be like banning an engine builder for building an illegal engine or banning a chassis builder if something was illegal on the car they built. maybe they (the race tracks or sanctioning bodies) should enforce the rules and make breaking the rules severe, such as you are banned from any UMP track for 30 days and a $500 fine, something like that MIGHT keep people from cheating.
ok jimmy i guess my post was a little overboard as far as banned for life. Your idea is more reallistic

My son is brilliant. Maybe more people should listen to him. Good post James!

Engine builders who build illegal crate motors are banned from series all the time... I don't see a problem banning people/companies promoting illegal products in the sport.

You can SIPE an A or H compound. You can grind any tire. You cannot groove any tire. You cannot use any chemicals or softeners. And straight from the rule book, it says you must use a DIRTcar plated Hoosier A-40, D-40, H-40 and/or DCM 400
I wonder if UMP considers grinding tires from week to week (altering them)???

Today was the first time i really paid attention to the tire rule from the ump site, and noticed about altering a tire. I know we have always ground them, but wanst sure if UMP considered it altering them or not. Thanks for clearing that up Jimmy.

i would think mr. dearing classifies himself as a member of the media, and, as a member of the media, remaining partial is a must. i dont see that very often. jmo.

i meant to say " remaining IMPARTIAL is a must". sorry for my error..... also, it was not specifically stated if that tire in question was actually used in competition. if it was not used, then no rules were broken. if it was used, then i dont see that it's anybody's business but ump"s... certainly not a photographer's business with an obvious 'axe to grind'.again, jmo.

If that tire is actually what Jimmy stated.......its illegal in any UMP sanctioned event. Would be nice to know who bought it. But that would be a whole new can of worms right there.

As a member of the media myself, I applaud Jimmy for taking the step from photographer/reporter to Journalistic Investigating. He has the right, as a member of the media, to ask questions and to inform and report on the facts. He obviously witnessed something and chose to question and make light of the issue. Elliott Davis does this on FOX2 all the time.

You all are saying that UMP needs to enforce the rules better. Obviously they are not doing it. Maybe, if people like Jimmy who have factual information (not assumptions) can expose the things that are not getting seen by UMP, it will force UMP's hand in taking a more active role.

I am not bashing UMP, or any other sanctioning body. All I am saying is that there are many people who get on here and make accusations and hide behind their screen names. Maybe if more things were exposed, and everyone policed themselves (since you all say the sanctioning body is not doing it) then maybe something will get done. Everyone wants to sit back and point fingers... and make accusations... and so forth. But NOBODY wants to step in and do anything about anything. Build YOUR credibility... get some integrity... and maybe you will get noticed!

Jimmy Dearing's credibility speaks for itself. For him to get on here and post what he did, took some balls... after all, his credibility and integrity are at stake. I believe he would not have posted it if it wasn't factual. There is nothing wrong with him exposing the truth and seeking additional comment or information.

Lastly, this is his site, he can do what he wants (so long as it's factual). If you don't like how he does things... you are free to leave.

The problem with finger pointing is you affecting someone elses credibility against their will and since the persons in question does not have the option of stepping away without enforcing the rumor I think everyone has a responsibility of morality and ethics to keep things to their self and the person of interest and the sanctioning body. The accuser has every right to bring the topic to the attention with the law makers or the persons involved but as soon as you bring to a public forum and decry, that makes the accuser much less of a person with any interest in changing the subject at hand but rather a person attempting to satisfy their agenda of ruining someones reputation. That's pretty ****ty if you ask me.

Why is everyone trying to put their political spin on this. Bottom line is bleed blue and others are delivering illigal tires. And the sad part is that now the guy is bragging about it. This BS needs to stop...

I can read the side of a tire. it was on his trailer behind his 4 wheeler he was using to deliver tires.

A persons credibility and reputation is affected first, by their own actions. Not by the words of others.
