How do WE??

I would love to help out. I really think with a lot of help we could get this going. Sure Millsey did so much for the RAMS but the members also did a lot. The members is what made the RAMS so much fun. As for the rules there was nothing wrong with the 2005 RAMS rules. Set the rules and stick to them. The hardest thing would be setting up the non-profit org. Then it would be getting a commitment from the race tracks. We have enough minstocks to get this to happen however we need help getting it done. I would be willing to help!!!!!

How do you organize a non-for-profit?

My 2 cents worth (Thats about all it is worth)

:)
This week before we all run the HEIDENHAIN 10K race at MCS I want to share some things with all of you that I have observed over these past few years of competing against all of you.
Although I don't drive one of the cars, I have had the most fun I ever had at the races with all of you.
Two short years ago I would have told you how I never would go dirt track racing.
In just 2 short years I am hooked.
Most of you grew up going to the track either with your father or uncle or even the folks down the street and it has become your passion.
I grew up at the drag strip and like all of you it became my passion as well.
Going around in circles is just a method of making one dizzy I would say!

I had the pleasure of driving the 15A at fan appreciation night out on the track and I can honestly say I admire all of you.
That was really crazy to drive around the MCS High Banks even though I stayed in low gear.
I can only imagine it at race speeds.
MAN: What a thrill!

As far as the RAMS getting back together, I don't think it will ever be the same.
Although I do think it needs to become some sort of organization just to show it's strength.
I have heard from many other competitors from around the Midwest about coming to our race.
The best thing I can tell them is how great the other competitors are.
From what I have heard, this could be a really big deal and we could have a huge car count.:):):)

If we put on a great show and we can all get along during this event we may be able to do it again in the coming years.
The Managing Director of HEIDENHAIN here in North America as well as the product managers and some of the regional sales people will be with us at our trailer during the event.
Please feel free to come down and thank them for being involved in this.
This will go along way to helping us further our classes cause.
These are some of the most generous folks you will ever meat.

That Said:

I would also like to have something to do with getting the class re-organized again.
Jeff and I had many INTERNET talks about the state of the class and I could tell it was dear to him.
It would be an honer to help build it up again.
Although I never met him in person, I think we would have gotten along real well.
If we are to establish this class as a real worth while part of the show each week, it will take all of our cooperation to do so.
If we could find another corporate sponsor to help with it, that would be a big plus as well.
Aren't all of you tired of running for $120.00 - 180.00 to win each week?
Can any of you speak GERMAN?;););)

Note to all competitors:

Please remember to come visit us down at the HEIDENHAIN trailer before, during or after the event.
Come see the HEIDENHAIN Traveling Circus load up after the races!
That is worth the price of admission!

Here are some things to remember so we all look real sharp:

WASH YOUR CAR AND YOUR HAULER:
You may not be the fastest car out there, but you never know who is watching!

Wash Your Drivers Suit:
This cost less than washing the car and hauler and the fans
(who adore you) won't have to wonder why you smell that way.
(Most of them have never driven 25 laps in one of these things)
They just don't get it!
I learned this trick from Mrs. Nullenski when I saw the boys drivers suits hanging on the line drying every Saturday morning.

TOUCH UP YOUR CAR!
A few bucks worth of rattle can color can transform your beater into something that the fans will take notice of!
We live by the Grand Stand rule!
If it look great from 20 feet away,
It looks great from the Grand Stands!
(It seems to work well for us anyway)

Well:

I can't think of anything else to say, SO

SEE YOU ALL AT THE RACES!

Sincerely:

Ed Albietz aka: Uncle Ed.:D

Concerning the reorginization of the Rams, I am checking as we speak on setting up a not-for -profit account for the Rams and see how much head ache that would be. Second, If the traveling series or even the orginization would be reborn, it will take help from everyone to do, not just a few people. I am not even in a mini stock but I had, as Rob Denny put it "Too Much Fun", to not try and help out. As far as contacts and such for orginizing some other tracks for special nights, that wont be as hard as you think, I already have 1 track I know we could get into, and there is still many months before the new season will be starting to finish up and get a few more tracks to run the mini's. Like I said before, if there is enough support from the drivers and the tracks, I will do whatever I can to help reorginize the Rams. Its up to everyone else whether or not to make a try of it.
On a side note, unfortunately, I will not be making it up to MCS this Saturday to watch everyone, I am dj'ing a cancer benefit dance in Olive Branch IL which for those that know me, kinda hits close to home. Good luck to everyone Saturday night and dont forget to thank Team Heiddeman for this race.

How about calling it the HEIDENHAIN ministock series. That way they can sponsor a whole series instead of just a race. How about it Uncle Ed

One more rule Butch

7) Enforce the rules, don't just have them.

Amen there midle of the pack jack;)

this is one big concern that will have to be overcame between tracks....

RULES....

you have I know 3 sets of them

doerun=easy
the rock= meduim
mcs = hard

some say they got out of hand on rules I think WE did as the rams... when you start talking rules tempers flare along with some nasty/ill words spoken.. then you have every track with special rules example MCS hole in bellhousing ROCK 8 inch 2300 allowed in everything...
we need a STANARD set of rules set them leave them and run them and enforce them... any tracks wants us these are our rules no special rules for each track... example say pevel wants scatter sheilds on all cars...then mcs would want a hoosier 15 in only... then the rock allowed street tires ,then doe run wanting mc crayes tires only....***(just examples)*** if not this class is like the sportsman different rules for every track...

I don't know about the 4bbl but you sounded like you had a v8 in that thing when were sitting in staging.

That comment was not directed at you Jim, you won the championship hands down because you were very fast at the end of the year even though you were just average at the beginning. A big congrats on that!! There were not allot of ways to cheat this year but I am sure there were a few cars outside of the rules. We all have holes in our bell housing and no one even looked into them. The RAMS had a scope and I bet nobody even knows where it is anymore.

The thing is we have all these rules every year and the only time I was really teched was my first year in 04. That only hurts the class because the people playing within the rules usually get smoked by those outside the rules. If no one is going to enforce the rules why have them? That is all I am saying.

You don’t have a guilty conscience or anything do you Jimbo?

I dont know about anyone else but i was teched twice this year

sat show

aw geeee, ed, does that mean i have to put both front fenders back on? and the hood? and buy a new radiator too? no fenders mean less car to clean,,,

Faeture Race at MCS last Saturday Night.

Hey Guys:

I know Lane's car could not make the call and he drove a different car for the feature.
And the dark red Mustang had some trouble as well.
That might be the reason for the 19 cars that started the feature.
But I am not sure.
Sorry I can't remember all the car numbers!

Have a great day!
Uncle Ed.:)

I think it was my fault only 19 started. My car jumped time as I pulled on to the track and the alternate probably did not know that.

sat

lanes car died in staging, found out sun a wire got pulled when we were trying to straighten the front end. matt denny was kind enough to let lane run his car, which helped matt with some feedback from a different driver.

I think this is the most the ministock group has worked together all year. Judging be the responces we have gotten I would have to say most are in favor of a traveling series. Just think how we could be if we all worked together!

I think that it would benenfit the drivers, fans, and the tracks if we all traveled together.

5 mini-stocks just don't cut...now 20 mini-stocks racing is a RACE!!

I agree, I know when I first started in 2004 there would be 15 to 20 cars race. My first night out at the rock in 2004 had 18 cars!
I vote for a touring series again. Plus you wouldnt have to race every single weekend.

hehe what do you mean "you wouldn't have to race every single weekend"...man thats all we live for! We even race twice a week if we can find a track to run at.:D:D:D Racing is for winners...hehe even if you loose. Some guys have just figured out how to run. We are looking forward to beating Shannon Burch, Steve Wright, CJ Wright, and Megan Bell. If any of you read this.....yep...we're coming for ya!

I'm just saying I put my family as first priority then racing second. If we have a traveling series we wont travel every single weekend. It will be more likely to be every other weekend. This will give everyone the opportunity to fix their broken race car and also spend a little summer family time. I dont know about you but sitting by the pool with a cold brewskee sounds pretty good to me.:D Or even taking your kids fishing/camping WITH a cold brewskee in your hand sounds pretty good too.:D

plus with $3 a gallon driving fuel every week to a diffrent track will be costly I know when we went to b-ville I spent $100 dollars to win $25.. yes I know racing is not to make money but travling every week will put a strane on budgets and make the wife's temper raise....

another reason why

thats another reason why i was thinking about it being an every other week end traveling show, less fuel costs instead of every week end also for the family side of it, people can spend more time with the families. as far as fuel costs, i agree with ya smurf, why i would try to get it where it would pay out a little bit more then just $20 or $25 to start, maybe try to get it at $35 to start and maybe a higher pay out through out the entire pay out and finishing order.
I checked on the not- for -profit deal, and it would be a major pain to do, but i'm going to contact trashdog since he was the last prez of the Rams and see if he still has the paperwork and all for the orginization, maybe be able to reuse all the id numbers and all from last year. would make things a whole lot easier. I know i have said this before, i will help do a bunch of leg work to get the rams going again but i want to make sure enough people want to do it before i spend alot of time and energy on it. i dont want to get a bunch of stuff done then only a handfull of people compete in it.

Butch, if we build it they will come. What brings big car counts to any track? Very simple, $$$$$$. However the orginization needs to run properly otherwise we will have a lot of dropouts. For example, I know three cars that left the RAMS because the rules were voted on incorrectly and not by the bye-laws. Which should have meant they were null and void. If we do this it needs to be done correct right from the start.

Yep build it and they will come. If you need help with some of the leg work let me know.

Getting organized never hurt anyone!

I loved the traveling...and never wanted the RAMS to stop traveling but others had different ideas....I say get it going...those were awesome days back in 2002 - 2003 running different tracks about every other weekend..and most of our races while traveling were almost always as good as a car count if not better than on the off weeks when running home track.... Good luck ...if you get it done it will be worth it and you'll love it...
