Howdy Folks :)

Mike runs a 360 in the Memphis area, and has a pretty good year,he will be at The Short Track Nationals end of the month in Little Rock,

Mike will be there with the number 88 but not as the driver. He hasn't drove for a few years now. Tim Crawley has been driving Mike's car for a while. They've won a lot of races including Wheatland a couple of weeks ago and again this week at Memphis. As hot is the Crawdaddy is right now I wouldn't bet against them winning the Short Track Nationals. He can wheel it, especially on the short tracks.

One of my all time favorite Farmington racers, Ronnie Standridge. No one was smoother. Don't look back because he was coming, every time. Still to this day one of the best races I've ever seen at Farmington was between Ronnie and Mike Ward. Both on the front row. Mike pulled the front wheels on the start and had to let it down. That gave Ronnie a couple car lengths advantage going into turn 1 and that's how they ran for 25 straight laps with no yellows. Nose to tail, in and out of traffic, finally crossing the line exactly as they'd crossed it to start the race, about a car apart. It was an amazing display by two of the best to ever race there.

dad don't get on the internet, but i told him what was said about him on this thread and he wanted me to tell everyone thanks for the kind words and he appreciates all his fans from then and the ones he has now. He is very grateful for all the support that he has had throughout the years.

from, Ron Standridge

I found this a few years ago of Jason Smith and Joey Nash at Farmington.

You copied a post I made from at least 2 years ago..lol I only taped a couple of VCR tapes of races from Farmington. It was to much trouble trying to watch the race and tape so I didn't try it ever again. The 2 shows I still have are when Kim Mock came down and won. You can hear the announcer tell Kim to move his car for the next race as he was so excited he went into the stands to shake the fans hands.
The other tape is the race just told about when Ronnie beat Ward on the line as I got the wheelie Ward pulled as Ronnie took off.

Pictures...

Some older ones we have.....

OMG some of the pix are "AMAZING" to see! Some I cant remember but some are like holy smokies! Great pix and I cant believe this 5 year old thread was revived something fierce heheh :p

Please keep the pix comeing. I have been soooo much enjoying these I cant even tell you how much.

Again, I was number 10 in Basketball back in the 80's because of the Standridge 10 car. :) Still to this date my favorite number and one of my "many" favorite drivers. :)

Also, its like part of me can almost remember the Standridge - Ward race, but alas I just cant remember. :( :) :)

88Z that was it and the name now reminds me. Man thats been awhile. I remember the announcer saying that 88Z was on his way and the whole croud would be excited. :)
I dont remmeber the names so much as the cars. Jason Smith.. what number car did he run? 28? :) I wish there was a blast to the sprint past with names, numbers and photos for fellows like me trying to search the good ol days of the introductoin of Sprint Car Racen. :)

BTW, thanks for replying. I've been wondering about 88Z for nearly 3 years since I started comen back to the track. :)
As a last question for 88Z, do you know if he is still raceing these days? If so, where? :) :)

I got pictures of every driver you named. ive been collecting sprint car photos since i was 6 years old from SFCR and im now 27. I got a bunch of Mike Ward photos as well as Jason Smith, Tim Montgomery, Ron Standridge, and son on...

Here's some more..but still just a tip of the huge mounds of pics i got. Almost all of these are pics taken by Kirby Laws. I do not claim I took any of these. I bought all these pics at the track throughout the years. I hope you all enjoy them as much as i do. they sure bring back memories. I wanted to list the name by each pic but wasnt able to.
