Huge penalties for Feger!

Per http://www.stlracing.com/2013/04/22/jason-feger-plans-to-appeal-illini-100-disqualification/ , following Illini 100 tire tests, Jason has been DQ'd from the race and win stripped after a tire sample from his heat race failed lab tests. He is appealing but if his appeal fails, penalties include loss of race winnings, 3k fine, 1000 WOO points loss, and possibly the biggest penalty, a 3 month suspension from all Outlaw AND UMP sanctioned events!! So as far as I know he will miss the whole Hell Tour! This is huge news, more will be out there as the story develops.

He has appealed. He isn't denying that the tire is contaminated, he's contending that it was in a tire wash he used during the offseason that they later realized shared similar compounds to popular tire softeners. He insists it wasn't done for a competitive advantage. If he can provide the product, and convince the judges, I think he will get a fair shake.

I think he has been associated with the known tire cheater from the St. Louis area (Nick somebody). You have to be careful who you hang out with.

This is what sanctioning bodies need to do to keep racers from cheating up tires. All these guys bragging about their stuff being undectectable. I guess it really isnt.

Nick G or whoever you're talking about works for Bloomquist now. Feger states it was a cleaner that he used before he stored the tires during winter. They're doing some tests with the cleaner and other tires he had stored away this week to see what the results show. I honestly believe him when he says he wasn't using tire dope but you just never know.

Should it really matter what was used that caused the chemicals? Didn't UMP release something that said to used NOTHING but water when washing tires?

This is the second time he's been caught. I was a huge Feger fan until he was caught at Belleville Summer Nationals last year (as Kloos was), but they claimed that the sewage plant is what could have caused his tires to pop positive. Nothing was done to Feger, yet Kloos was hung out to dry the year before.

A. Last year at Bellville -- he did NOT alter his tires. UMP said it was inclusive and would NOT share the lab results of the tests with Jason. It is like being accused of a crime, but not being able to see the evidence.
Jason tried for several weeks to get the results and nobody would share them with him. -- All of us felt like Jason was hung out to dry.
B. This time we are doing our own testing as well, plus requesting additional testing from WOO.
C. Feger Racing needs to figure out what happened, because only the degreaser and water were put on the tires to clean them, like the guys do every single week and have done for years. After Charlotte, tires are cleaned and wrapped with cellophane and put on a shelf to stay clean.

i have been a feger for a while i don't know if he done this or not but a three month suspension that is way TOO long i hope he can win the appeal!!!!!

If you were a good running team and had a good shot to win a race like the Illinois 100 wouldn't you use new tires instead of old tires from a year ago?if a race pays10000 or more tire confiscation and testing should be mandatory

The tire they are claiming was treated was the right front from the 15 lap Heat, not the feature.
Most teams use the tires they have, when they can. The tire may have only had a 25 lap feature or a 10 lap heat on it.

Feger started front row outside on his home track, a track that he is pretty dominant at, in his preferred position on the top side. Top two transfer go to redraw, top 3 to the feature.

Tires from the his great run in the feature were deemed ok.

Kloos was suspended for 6 months, appealed , and was knocked down to 3 months.
the fine, and suspension should be the same for everyone, no matter who you are.
For the record, Kloos was never told what was wrong with his tires (even after asking) he was told they didn't match the benchmark standard.
I'm shocked they tested a heat race tire.

I think i heard on this forum last season simple green has chemicals same as tire softeners in it . And seen a post on here said no treating of tires with anything soap degreaser ect. Seems pretty simple.

i like feger to but hey just use water only to clean your tires its that simple people. lol i guess he will next time

Seems simple, unless you are the poor bastard that has to clean the tires with water only!

i could care less either way because most of the people on here talking and complaining dont have the first idea what they are talking about, but Racing68 i couldnt agree with you more. That has been my complaint this whole time. It depends on WHO it is on what kind of opinion you people want to form about the situation
