I-55 Raceway AARA Fall Nationals Results!

I believe Gary puts his own motors together. Don't quote me on that though!

Glad to see you found your answers from page one of this post --- :)

SUGARSHACKMOTORS

You make no sense.

I hear this was somebody elses motor. Some guy named Schmidt. You are right, the motor didn't win the race and yes the highland cars have bigger motors. We know this.

Now, my next question has to do with the rear suspension. Is it legal to have "sliders" inside the coil on the rear end of an allied sportsman? Can you move your spring forward on the rear housing?

I thought this stuff is supposed to be stock location but I am hearing different rules from different people.

NO the motor was Gary

Rear suspension answer : There are know sliders under the car. About the springs you need to know what frame is used and do your own homework.

Stock location for frame used

People that know the rules look at the car and said its legal. Even other front runners agreed it was okay.

NOW STOP TRYING TO CAUSE DRAMA ON THIS POST AND GO DO YOU HOMEWORK AND GET FASTER !!!

Pit,

From what i am hearing, it sounds like there was something in question on the rear end of the car and the only solution allied could come up with was to cover it up and look the other way. Seems to be a common theme lately.

Where did that motor come from? Nobody wants to give props to the engine builder. I don't get it.

1st off, I can assure you I know and have seen what is on the 87 car. I can also assure you it is legal!!!! I can also assure you that he isn't the 1st one to do what he is doing. This was being done over 2 years ago. I can assure you no allied official covered up anything. What you may have seen was an ex-allied official who sometimes fills in cover it up. But, not a working official that night.

Where did the motor come from? Once again, who's business is that? where in the rules do you have to tell who builds your motors? But, since I can read and have the 1/2 of a brain that it requires, it says Morley Engines on the quarter panel of the 87 car.......

Once again, tech area is for the tech man and those associated with the car being teched. Its not an open house for all others or some big mouth know it all to come and inspect and flap his lips.

Btw..... armoflu...... you asked me this last week, so I want to ask you, who are you and where do you race?

This is PITDRIFTER I am on a friends PC!!!!!

great racin

some of the best side by side racing i have ever seen anywhere i have been coming to i55 for about 16 yrs. and some of the best racing i have ever seen at pevely. congrats to gary haynes wow what a race.

Drifter you crack me up with your 1/2 a brain- we knew that about the quarter panel but I guess the guys were looking in and at the wrong places on the car- :D Gary is a Good Clean Driver and he deserved that win ! Let everyone at least have their day without all the DRAMA !!!!!!

it was a very good night of racing. But i do think these sportsmans are getting a lil out of hand with there rear suspenisons.they are pretty much like modifeds now with a dumby frame in back just for looks.i think sportsman should leave there stock upper spring buckets in so theres no question if its been altered. But look at what masiels does with his street stock.no wieght jacks stock floor board and firewall stock 4 link and he can run with the best of them.masiel has a true sportsman in my book 1 step up from a pure stock.jmo

we have three motors morley, buzzard and sugarshack thats the motor we build. Brian Kawelaske Gary Haynes step son

Pit, I haven't accused anyone of anything. All I have done is ask some of the most basic questions. The reply's have all been very entertaining. They have also been very defensive. Why?

Pit, I asked who built the motor and never said it was required to be announced. Everyone ignored the question. Why? Sorry I missed it on the quarter panel.

Pit, I asked simple questions about the rear setup of an allied sportsman. I never said Gary Haynes has what was asked in the questions. You all made that connection in your defensive replies.

Pit, I never said I was in the tech area, never said the tech area was for anyone else all I did was ask why one car was covered?

Pit, I never asked you who you were, I did ask you where you race? You acted like you raced but I also recall you being an official. Thats the reason I asked. You got defensive and assumed I was being a smart azz.

Lum, congrats you guys build a heck of a powerplant.

JDearing, you are right, I assumed the engine builder was not the driver. There are a lot of people who buy them elsewhere. Still a simple question.

The only people blowing this out of proportion was you guys/girls.

First Steve's car is a Street Stock(one step up from a pure stock)... This was a sportsman(2 steps up from a pure stock) race, he did a great job to make the show. If you think the suspension on these sportsman are getting out of hand you would be blown away by what some other tracks allow. The sportsman at Pevely are no where near what the latest modified technology is. In fact they are about 10 years behind at their best.

Hey Armoflu

For your information all Gary's motor have names
Barny, The Pollock, and Billy Bad Azz.

HEY, HEY, WHAT DO YOU SAY, LETS GO, LETS RACE!!!

Yeah, you're probably right. Some people may have been defensive, and over reacted, including me. But, that tends to happen when people start questioning weather there was cheating and on top of that, was cheating allowed. That puts the integrity of the driver and the group putting on the show in question. I happen to be part of the group that put on the show, and am a personal friend of the driver who won it for quite sometime. So I guess I takes offense from both sides.

What irritates me is Gary catching flack over his car because someone thinks they seen something that they didn't and want to make a big deal out of it. Everyone knows sliders aren't allowed on a sportsman at this show or any Allied regular show. So Obviously there wasn't one or the tech man wouldn't have let it go. Or do these know-it-alls think that Gary's crew would have even allowed the others the oppurtunity to see under the car if they had something that blatant illegal? There was nothing on that car that hasn't been on there this year and been looked at throughout the season, including the motor.

Here's the deal, has anyone ever gotten by with rules violations at the Fall Nationals? Who knows? I assume its possible. But, I can tell you that if they did, they snuck one in there cuz it wasn't because of a techman just allowed it. That I can tell you.

Simple fact is, it suks that this was the biggest win of Gary Haynes racing career, and it shouldn't be marred with anyone questioning it. Gov's worked his tail off getting that car to the caliber its at now. Many times he's refered to it as a block of cheese cuz it wasn't working for him. Well, it picked a great night to get right! The man did a helluva job. He had a good car, a good motor, he drove the wheels of it and a couple of lucky breaks. Thats a recipe for victory.
