I-55 Raceway Improvements???

The base and conduit is in for the second light tower on the infield, from what it appears. All they need to do is run the electric, and put up the light, but as previously mentioned, new 3 phase electric has to be brought in, and that definately isn't cheap. As for the infield pits, keep them and the wall. It makes the racing exciting, and you can see what your favorite drivers are doing to their cars between races.

Personally, I would like to see deeper grandstands, maybe adding an additional 2,000 seats. All in prep for a big 2 day show, which I keep hearing may happen next year.
 
I'd like to see them build up the outer grounds around turns 1 and 2 and put in stands over there. LOL! Yeah right! But I do think some grandstand work would be nice. Some of the remaining wood is starting to get pretty old and worn. And maybe I'm spoiled but I think that bathrooms short of what they have at KLMS are just nasty. Tracks could really learn a lot from the design at KY Lake. The concessions are great! But then again there's that "B" word if you go spending that kind of money.
 
How about two new portapoties in the outside pits, we got one more this year, I thought that was great, and the lap counter you are all talking about, then put the money for the rest of the improvements you all want, into the latemodel purse from third or fourth on back :) , and spread a little of it through the mod purse as well. Yes I am aware of the fact that I-55 is already the best paying track in the region. If they do decide to build a new concession stand and VIP tower in turn three and four, split faced concrete blocks would be very nice, and I can reccomend a very good masonry contractor. There are manny good arguments for keeping the inside wall like it is, in my opinion there are more good reasons to not have it. All in all this thread is just like playing fantasy promoter for a couple minutes, Ray Marler, Ken Schrader, and their families that who them make the command decisions at I-55 will make better decisions than all or us computer desk fantasy promoters could, if we could agree on what to do.
 
I was at KLMS last weekend and they had the scoring and qualifying mixed in with the ads.It was not very big but it let you know who was first.I would like to se that and the new lighting.with that extra tower I55 looks like a totally different track at night.
