I Dont Like Chuck

I was more concerned about Chucks wife, but thanks for the apology. I talked with Chuck Sunday night after we got home from Knoxville and we discussed the "jerk" thing. It sure was good to hear that peace was made.

Kenny,
Welcome back to SFCR, good luck Saturday night.

hi this is billy the kidds mom. I never get on here and speak my mine but here goes. just want to comment on what brightrightear stated about you can (pretty much bet on who is going to win at SFCR.) well as i see it who ever wins the features drove a hell of a race to get there. It doesnt matter if its Billy, Kenny, Brent, etc............... If your good enough to be there at the end and your car is handling then you should win!!!!!!! Yes Billy has won alot this year and he drives a heck of a race to win, so does kenny and he has won alot this year. the good thing about it that who ever wins they always congrat.s the other. I do not ever see any resentment between the drivers!!!! I think its sad that you feel the way you do about going to the races. I dont understand what you want them to do , just not try to win?????????? I think that would be kinda silly not to try and win dont you?

It has nothing to do with resentment between the drivers or the drivers themselves. I was in no way trying to take anything away from them, their team members or their families. They do deserve to win in the situations that you gave. However, if they were to maybe mix the racing up a little bit, it might make for some better entertainment. Maybe invert the top 8 drivers in the feature or something of that nature. I would like to see them bring quilifying back in the sprint cars. Seeing the same guys from the front two rows win all the time does get a bit stale. You are going to have to look at this from a fan in the stands point of view. Just mix it up a bit, that's all.

Most of you that post on here have some ties to the racers, whether it's husbands, fathers, sons, brothers, cousins, uncles or close friends. So when you hear other people expressing their opinions you seem to take it personally and you feel that you must defend that person like it was yourself. But what you fail to realize is that no matter what you will always be there every race night rooting them on, however as a paying fan if I don't like to watch a rerun every week, I'm going to do something else with my family. For the same 10 dollars it takes to pay my way in at the races, I can take my whole family to the movies and see something that I have never seen before. The promoter or track owner depends on that paying customer to keep coming back every week so he can keep the doors open and the lights on.

Racing is entertainment, and if you don't entertain the fans with something different every once in a while, you're going to lose their loyality at the front gate. I love racing like no other, but sometimes I crave a little change in my diet.

Well i agree with you to a certain extent. You know there has been times i have seen kenny and billy start in the back and finish in the front. ALSO I PAY TO GET IN AND SEE THE RACES TOO!!!!!! I didnt take what you said personally i just think you dont see the whole picture. unfortunatley not everyone has the money to put in their cars if they did then yes there would be alot more interesting races. There are alot of talented modified, sportmans and sprint drivers. I too have been to the point of being tired of seeing the same person win every week. But I knew they should be there cause they worked hard to get there!!!! Not so many years ago Billy was racing sportsman cars and tommy worley jr domenated in that class. He won most of the time. I was happy for him cause he is and was a good driver. It does take talent to drive and win races. I didnt mean anything hateful to you about what you said I just think that sometimes people forget how talented these guys are and im not just talking about billy!!!! there are alot of them kenny, brent, mike francis, crader, worley sr, timmy hill, danny resinger, etc........ i could keep going. I think that the modifieds have been putting on great races this year. matter of fact all the classes have. I use to not watch any of the other races but billys and now i watch almost all of them. They have put on some good races at SFCR and Fredricktown. All of you drivers keep up the good work!!!!!! All of you are very talented. I know I couldnt get out there and drive one of those race cars and im sure most people in the stands couldnt either. They all race on the edge.It takes alot of seat time to really be good.

Didn't say that they couldn't win from the back. Right now the way they(officials) have it, 9 out of 10 nights the fast guys are on the front two rows. If they are as good as I think they are, then they shouldn't have a problem coming from the middle of the field. And I'm not really talking about just the modifieds, I mean all classes. I'm not much of a mod. fan, but I do watch them.

You mentioned talent. That was what my comment was about: TALENT! If they are as talented as we say, then I'd like to see them race their way from an inverted start.

I agree..

Then that way the inverted start could give someone in the back a chance to win the race too...that way it ISN'T always the same person every weekend or every other weekend....BUT that's just my opinion...

Once again, where did the winners start in their feature tonight?
Sportsmans-front pole
multis-front pole
sprints-outside front
mods-??????? Don't know, didn't stay it was already after midnight and they closed the concession stand way before they should have(first feature) and I was thirsty. So I left.

bigright...i tried to stay out of this, but again you and your negative BS just gets under my skin...i cant remember hearing you say anything else but that since ive been here. first off...at the beginning of the night...everyone has the same chance at drawing a good pill(supposedly). while to me this is a suspect way of deciding things...its the way it is. during the heat...every driver has a chance to set themselves up with a good starting spot in the feature. ive seen "good" drivers start at the back of the heat and move up..maybe they shouldnt race so hard. if you invert...people will race less in the heat. not going to happen. maybe they should tie parachutes on the rearend of the faster cars. or fine them for winning too much. or maybe they should just tie a slower driver to the back of a faster car...that would really change things up. bottom line...racing is this same way wherever you go. there has to be consistency to get people to show up with their cars. also, people who have more money get better stuff. people with more money drive with less apprehension as tearing up doesnt leave them sitting at home for 3 weeks. there are tons of great driver...not tons of rich people at the raceway. i do realize that the most important thing for everyone should be keeping you happy and giving you some variety, but its not within anyones power to make that happen. go to the movies...we both know its not as fun. if they change the rules...they lose the drivers...if they lose the drivers...they lose the track. trust me...everyone has a few things they would do differently if they owned the place, but you have it one way you piss off this 10 people...you have it another you piss off that 10 people. it is IMPOSSIBLE to please everyone...so you do it as best you can and try to keep it within what everyone elses tracks are doing and thats that. if you hate it so bad...dont go...no one will miss you here or there.

You're the man zac. Time to put me in my place. Always waiting to give someone a good piece of advice. First off it isn't negative, it's just something that would let the fast cars RACE their way to the front in the feature. And bud, it's not done this way all over the place, you should get out more. Some places do qualifying. Some places do passing points. The drivers are going to show up. It would be the same for everyone of them, just as it is right now. This is not just for the drivers, it's also a good way to attract more fans on the front stretch. I'm sure Cory could use some of that. And MONEY, this was mentioned a couple post back. By doing this it would give some of the other guys a chance to win so maybe THEY could get some of that cashola and get their cars a tune up. What's wrong with that? You want to call it negative BS fine, call it what ever the hell you want. There are alot of one sided posters on this board and if any little thing messes that up it's automaticaly NEGATIVE. Maybe you just don't understand it, I hear people don't like what they don't understand. I'm not a rearend smoocher like you, sorry. I don't mouth someone in one post then turn around and apoligize in the next, like you do. I have my own ideas, I don't want to be like everyone else. Do you think I'm the only one that doesn't go every week because of this? I'm not, trust me. And if you hate my post so bad, don't read them. I won't miss you either. I gave you an 'ata-boy' about your web site and all the dedication you put forth on it on a previous post so I guess that it's BS too.

It's just a horrible shame when the fast guys win... LMAO.. Billy, how dare you!!!! You and Brent and Kenny should ask to start from the back each and every week just to give everyone else and better chance to win...

"Why do only the fast cars win?" EGAD!

Everyone likes Kenny

Once again, Kenny Harris reaches out to yet another
"fan base" Kenny was seen testing @ Doe Run Raceway
recently..After inspecting their car when Kenny had
finished his test laps, the owner of ChicKarts was overheard
telling Mr. Harris to cut back on the cheeseburgers &
come back next month to re-test..

Has anyone noticed that Joey 21c has started on the front row for the last 7 weeks that Farmington has run. Oh his girlfriend does the pill draw and she draws his pill how convenient is that. I think everyone should draw the pill at the same time in front of everyone, so there is no CHEATING!

i agree 110% sprint 97. and you definately arent the only one whose noticed that. bottom line is...he doesnt need that. hes a good driver. its like bonds using steroids. joey can win from anywhere...so why do that?

bigright, show me where i kissed *** or turned around and apoligized when it wasnt due? i realize they do it different other places, but you dont just throw out some new rule because a fast guy is winning. why would a track promoter sit around and try to figure out a way to make it so that the great drivers cant win? makes no sense. on occassion one of them has a bad heat and has to start in the back of the feature...and it is a lot of fun to watch them come to the front, but its a little much to think that the track is going to do that on purpose on a weekly basis. most of the drivers and a lot of the fans hate qualifying. why would they do something that the better half of people dislike? for you? talk to the drivers who dont win and see if they want some silly rule helping them win a race. they dont want that...they want to get it the same way these other guys do. maybe you just need to think something through and at least use a tiny bit of brain before you come on and spew. and as far as me not reading your post...im not telling you you cant always talk **** like you do...im just telling you that thats why i always come on and talk **** to you. if you have some new ideas...everyone would like to hear them...but you act like you are the stlracing siskel and ebert and you just hang around waiting to say something rude to someone. you can be nice and not come across sounding like an *** kisser...you try so hard not to do so, basically you end up just sounding like the *** instead.

I'm not sure how this post went from Chuck to Joey but I thought I would put in my two cents. Has Joey started on the front of a heat race the last 7 weeks in a row? I don't know but would like to. I know he didn't start on the front row of the dash this week. He drove his way to 2nd to earn the front of the feature. Then he had to pass Jerrod Hull to win. No small task in itself. Jerrod didn't just pull over and give it to him.

Zac, you've been very good at supplying information. Here's a research project for you if you have time. Your website shows 5 different winners in the sprint car class. Give us a listing of those 5 guys and where they have started their heat race and the dash each week for all year. Not just the weeks they won but every week they were there. It will take a little digging and hopefully they don't discard the lineup sheets each week. I'm not sure what you will find but have an idea. It would be interesting to see.

I'm curious to know how racing could be better. Back when they qualified, the fastest cars were guaranteed to be in the A. The 6 fastest were guaranteed the dash. You're whole night depended on those 2 qualifying laps. Get a good time and you had a good starting spot in the A, have a bad time and you were going to start in the back or in the B main. They didn't have to race in the heat races, just make a lap. Heat races were simply extended hot laps. You never saw anyone really push it in a heat, they mainly just rode around. The current pill draw doesn't allow cruising in the heats. They have to race their way into the feature and the dash. We've seen much harder racing in the heats than we ever did before. Yes, sometimes the fast cars will draw on the front. But many times they don't. Witness Timmy Montgomery this week. He started towards the back, drove his rear end off trying to make the dash, but came up short. He still was able to move up to 3rd in the A and was right on the leaders at the end. To me it was more entertaining to watch him have to drive that hard all night, not just make 1 fast lap. With qualifying I would venture a guess that Tim would have one of the 6 fastest times nearly every night. What do you think he would rather do! Pill draw or qualify? I'm just guessing but I think qualifying would make it easier on him.

It's not the fast guys fault they are usually in the front, in any class. No one just moves out of the way and lets them go by. They have to race their way there. That's what makes them the fast guys! Its the same in every class at every track. There always going to be cars that are just better.

Oh, just for the record, I DO like Chuck, as well as most of the guys who give it their all each week, in every class, for our entertainment.

As stated above, just my two cents. Have great day!

well said....

I am not sure why so much time and effort should be spent penalizing the fast cars and rewarding the slower ones. I think it would make a lot more sense to let the chips fall where they may, and if the slower cars don't like it they should step up their commitment to the sport and invest more in their car (both time and money). If they don't have the money they are free to solicit sponsors just like everyone else.

The emphasis is where it should be, provide an equal chance for everyone to succeed.

For the record, I DO like Chuck also.

agree with the both of you. and i will look in to that open wheel...i should have at least the last 8 or so races worth of info and i may be able to dig deeper than that before seasons end. i also have another idea...why dont we come up with a few ideas...this is just for fun...for things the track could do differently. i will set up polls on the sfcraceway.com board and we'll see where the drivers and fans stand. bigright rear wants qualifying in the sprints...lets all vote on it and see where people stand. this will have no bearing on what anyone at the track does, as this is for fun...it would be neat to know where the larger portion of people stand. my email addy is zac@sfcraceway.com...email me your ideas and ill put it up by weeks end.
