Inside the pits at i55

If I'm not mistaken, Walsh is the first guy Korte has wrecked all year. When anyone else makes a physical move it "Rubbin is racin". When Korte does it, "He's drivin dirty". Ray Walsh isn't exactly "Mr. Clean" out there either.

Did anybody mention Billy Moyer door banging Jimmy Mars in that heat race at Tri-City? No! Would someone have posted about it if Randy Korte had done it? Yes, and it would have been 3 pages long by now.

Just be honest guys, you don't like him. So therefore, you view his actions differently than you'd view someone else's.

BTW, Manville door slammed Korte to get that first win. These guys race hard and sometimes they get a little physical. It happens every week in almost every class.

U say manville door slammed Korte to get the first win. I wasnt there so I don't know, but no matter, Did Korte drive over and create a fight with manville over it. Ray was being a baby.

This happened right in front of me and it is just like racerfan said, Korte was running hard up high and ray drifted enough and Korte hit him. I just bet that ray feels like an @&& now. I don't ever see Korte take anyone out. I believe it was a bad deal for ray but it is something that wasnt purposely done and ray isnt having the best of years and had one of the better nights I have seen him run and tempers flare. I will say that it was a little overdone on rays part, not by saying anything to Korte but by swinging. NOT GOOD.
your kinda new to st louis racing aren't you

Well korte couldnt have done that to erb because erb was chasing korte every lap. Also korte ran the same groove in the feature so how did he chop erb.

Allied

a lot of you ray walsh fans are not going to like this but here goes i also like walsh he is a good driver here is what happened walsh came up and blocked korte not once but twice and ya'll know block me once ok but twice not good and korte busted him being walsh blocked him the second time if the roles were reversed walsh would have done the same thing or any other driver as far as the fight walsh got out of his car went over to korte started the fight always if you leave your car go and punch someone out your out of there like right now and maybe suspended that did not happen but so far walsh has not been suspended but he should be and again i like walsh one of the best modified drivers i have ever seen tempers do flare people get angry but that should not have happened. korte was the better man he did sincerely apoligize.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't it say in the rule book that each driver is responsible for their pit crew? If there is any fighting, etc. at all, the driver is responsible. Both drivers should be suspended for at least a few weeks because even if neither of them swung, their crews sure were. I don't have anything against either driver, but the rules are the rules. There is NO WAY Allied should have let Korte race that Late Model feature if Allied was going to stick to the rule book. They both should have been thrown out and put on suspension. Who knows, maybe Allied will do the right thing and make sure they are penalized. I sure hope so. I know last year Horton never swung at anyone, just had heated words with an official and they suspended him for the rest of the season. This incident certainly calls for more action with all the fighting that went on.

korte wrecked half the feild in LM heat race last night

Well said..........

Well said Gottaluvit!!!!!!!

If Allied or Ray Marler don't act on this, then I think Ray and Randy are "Allied / Marler boys"! I sure know Ricky Horton wasn't and he didn't do half what these boys did!

Mike Cray :D

You guys forget Korte does no wrong. Korte said sorry because he knows he looked bad to his fans and this made it ok. He doesnt care about ray. So know all you Korte lovers can come on here and tell us how great he is.

Way to go Ray

Bottom line is Korte got what was coming to him all year. Way to go Ray Whhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooo!!!!!!!

Did the pit crews get in any trouble for the helmet toss game? Looked like they was having fun playing catch.

yeah that was one call i did not agree with in the lm heat korte intentionally spun the guy to cause that big pile up and was not penalized he should have been black flagged right then and there...and the good thing about ray is he don't forget and its gonna be a darn shame the lesson randy will have to learn......jmo

Yeah this is fun, and I would like to make two points, one in the form of a question.

1. Someone mentioned that Korte was somehow justified in taking Ray out because Ray had blocked Korte twice.

You can only block someone if your in front of them and if your in front of them you can't see whats behind you and the car in the front has the right of way and the car in the back has a duty to avoid running over the car in front. Your point of view doesn't hold water.

2. Since there was no question that Ray was dumped why wasn't Ray offered his spot back , if his car was able to continue that would have gone a long way in preventing what happened in the pits.

Let me make it three points:

3. Allied has the best rules, runs a very timely and orderely show, but they have a long history of failing to making good calls.

I know every time I have got in a fight in the pits they told us to load the car and leave right then. The car I help with did not get to race another race or even stay in the pits. Not a Korte fan or a Walsh but Randy was in his car and Ray went to him. I thought if you went to another guys pit to start trouble you was kicked out? But if Randys pit crew was throwing punches or Helmets then Korte should have been told to leave to. Just looks bad on the track to have a special event and guys start fighting in the pits.

wasn't there, dont know what happened for sure(there is alot of differing viepoints on here) but i feel certain neither driver is going to get any more than a verbal. they both put too many butts in the stands, and in the pits.

Well I agree we don't want a bunch of thugs running around at the race tracks, but racing is a very emotional sport and that is what makes the sport what it is.

If the fans were so put off by an occasional and warranted erution of emotions why then does every one run toward the display of emotions and never away from it.

Lets not sterilize dirt racing and make it as boring as NASCAR has become.
