No its not its a terrible post,
You speak of being in the drivers seat and free to race at tracks where you desire, while you enjoy that benefit now that kind of freedom is a fairly recent thing and what you advocate in your post will in the end rob you of that freedom.
racefantoo and dirthound are about to get axed if they don't stop the ridiculous posts...
I don't think it's that, I think he's sweet on you. He watches for each time you post so he can post right after you. I think it might be a good thing if he were a woman following you that close, but a man thats pretty creepy.Sean 2 ,
Do you process a large enough vocabulary to put more than two word together.
News flash for Tom and Amy:
Your comments about racing wherever you want and not being bound to any race track only shows that you must be fairly new to the sport, because it was not to many years ago that a racer, in this area at least, was indeed bound to a race track.
You only enjoy the freedom to go to other tracks now because of UMP, UMP took the shackels off the racer, before that each track set thier own rules in an effort to ensure thier own weekly car counts, so a racer had to decied where they wanted to race and that was pretty much it.
Lakehill had their rules, Allied had theirs and SARA and Tri-City, ETC.
If you like things the way they are now then you need to support UMP, but if you want to go back in time then support non UMP tracks.

This post got me thinking that going back to the way things were might not be such a bad idea. Once a racer could go anywhere and race, it was good for him, but bad for the fans and tracks. Racers became nomads, fans of Joe Racer who were not necessarily race fans quit going to the track when their "hometown hero" started travelling to other places, and spectator counts dropped. That led to promoters adding classes to increase pit pass revenues, shows started dragging on, and more non-hardcore fans quit coming to the races. What we have left is half-full grandstands, and tracks going out of business. So looking at the big picture, is that really a good thing for the sport?
Now I'm not naive enough to think we will ever be able to go back to the old days, but I do have some thoughts on how to best capture what the 2007 racing climate has to offer. Click here if you would like to read on: http://www.dirttrackinsider.com/viewtopic.php?t=1660
