Here are the most recent pictures of my rookie effort. I still have to add "sponsors" (I use that term VERY loosely ) to the hood, trunk and rear quarter panels. But I do have to say she's closer to looking like a race car.
As far as driving like one......that may be a different story! Guess I'll find out soon.
Gary......You are just too damn funny! Gotta' love your spirit, man. Makes everyone wonder what you're really gonna show up with at the track.
Seriously, though, the cars are looking awesome. You guys are a proud class of drivers and it certainly shows in the effort you're putting in to making these cars look as good as they do! Makes me wanna build one for myself and join in all the fun. Wouldn't Chris just have a fit???
The F5 machine is off for vinyl work on Tuesday. The guys have all been working at it feverishly for weeks now. It finally sounds as good as it's starting to look, too. They're putting new headers & mufflers on tonight and installing the Tel-tach (sp?). And to make matters worse Greg had to use a couple vacation days because we have to get the trailer ready before Tuesday to haul the car for the vinyl work. If it's not one thing it's another. Whoever thinks the winter months are days off from the racing scene is nuts! I think they work harder and longer during the winter than they do during the season itself. I know you all can relate to that!
Only 14 1/2 days until Play Day...oops...I mean Test & Tune....
Kathy
P.S. anybody recognize this guy in the attached picture? He'll be hard at it again in a few weeks!
Here is the most recent pic of my car. This is actually Rob Shaws car and he is sponsoring it to me to race for the year. Most of you probably dont know me but this is my first year racing. I will be racing at highland and Tri-city. Im not even sure what the car will do on the track yet.
I plan on racing at I-55 raceway but not every week, only when I can and depending on how the car holds up. Most of you probably don't know me since It will be my first year. -Mike
Jason, I see you found a way around the NO aluminum sides. Them aftermarket carbon fiber sides look good and original.......LOL OOPS( posted under my wifes name) Kenny or Harris 69 is what it should be
I see a few candidates for the "Best Appearing Car" award at the next AARA Banquet!!! Lookin' good!
Picked up the F5 from High Caliber Graphics last night. It looks really good (but then I'm biased). Wimpy did an awesome job as usual.
Cody Conner I see a potential career for you on the horizon, too. You're really getting good at your vinyl work!!! The 71 looks great. Did you do Al's car yet?
I'll post another pic of the F5 with its vinyl if I won't get fussed at for posting to the wrong thread.
My carbon fiber sides are very light and very expensive.
I wish! All steel this season, baby. Bring your magnets.
Kathy, Thats just how I like her, . I will have it all dressed up for opening night. But, I am sorry to say no pink hood this season. I will have a small pink flower on the rear. Even though I am leaving Omni Hotels they still want to support us, so I will support them.
Brad Sr., I know you are a closet Toyota fan.
You dont need to be jealous,
Oh ya , Thank you.
Copy that ghost rider. That works both ways. I will make sure when I lap you, I will pass on the inside. Hopefully you wont have a two way radio so you can block me.
