The thing is they came out with a nice pay for the street stocks guys about mid season the first yr back and none of the guys would show up! what makes em think they gonna now? Jmo but I think thy better seal the deal with em and pay em good! Triple Track Points...Mmp, Tri city and Highland...nice lil ten race series!
None of the SS guys went because we would have been racing against sportsman cars....doesn't makes sense to drive 2 1/2 hours to race for 5th at best. I tried running my SS at pevely with the sportsmans and its a big difference.

I'd like to see TCS SS rules and allow the ashalt take offs along with the A's and H's. Won't be an advantage.

But if you start going with rules that require changing parts or adding weight to race I would bet most won't show up.

casey said if 20 ss from tri city, highland or Belleville show up and show their dedication then that would be the rules! So nobody made a attempt to go and the sportsmans count was higher so he went with their kinda rules!

Yep. Same thing will happen if they dont show us the interest. They have to show up! Planning a start date 2nd week of march be ready people!!!!!!! Or be left out again.

So reading through this post it appears that you are going after the been there done that classes that pretty much caused the doors to close the last time MMP was open. With all the tracks around that target the Late Models and A-Mods it would make sense to target the more economical classes of racing.....Lets think about it......

#1 Late Models and A-Mods are your most expensive classes of racing. This is turn means higher cost to maintain, thus these classes expect the the highest purse payout. Since these classes race for the most amount of money they usually cause the most "post race issues"

#2 Take a look at history, There are a select few drivers and teams in these classes that a majority of the time will win the race. Whats the reason? They have the deepest pockets, most financial backing and best drivers of any other teams. People come to see a show not a dog pack chasing the rabbit.

#3 Your looking at UMP sanctioning, we all know that this is one of the worst represented sanctioning bodies around. They have proven they cant mange money nor provide bodies at the track and in turn want to charge the racers a "license" fee to cover there financial short falls with no real benefit to the driver or promoter.

#4 UMP Tech.....Does anymore really need said? Its about as existent as UMP personnel are.

With all due respect to you Trace, I remember this same post last year about MMP and you seemed to be a big supporter of the B-Mods. I fail to understand why any promoter/advisor would want to leave that revenue on the table. There are a ton of B-Mods laying around and plenty of guys that would love to have a place to race them.

I just can't fathem why these are not even being considered yet you are considering a stock car class/classes that cant seem to agree on anything? Why is that? The same reason the A-mods and B-mods are separate classes! Different racers have different budgets!

Here is a thought......Economical means cheaper to build and maintain. This in turn means a higher car count, higher car count means more crew and fans at the track. Now correct me if I am wrong but that means more revenue for the track not only in admission but in concession sales as well.

Since these are a "lower class" they wont expect the high dollar payouts that the upper classes would meaning more PROFIT for the promoters, now contrary to the classic promoter line of "we do it cause we love racing" we all know no one is going to take on the headache of track promoting if they are not making money.

We have all been told by you multiple times that the reason the track wasn't reopened was because it was not profitable. Provide the economy racers a place to race, a nice facility to race at which MMP is and the cars, people and money will come.....

B mod 297
My name is Trace. My son is Alan. Wife is Kim.
Im not the promotor but could be if I wanted it. Im just collecting opinions and giving some advice. And will help as needed.
My honest opinion has and always has been no duplicate looking classes. Latemodels-crates. Or amod-bmod. One look alike class is it. If ya got a mod run a mod. But the decision was not mine and I didnt influance it. Latemodels and modifieds had car counts. Bmods had more issues slowing down the show because of wrecks and attitudes of racers in that class. Maybe thats why they are not going to be there. The reason was not in our discussions.
And the track prep will be different on race night. Knocking down the cushion will probably not happen.

My mistake on the name, I apologize. I just fail to see a different result when your going with the same classes that were there before and were not successful the first go around as well as running the same sanction as Pevely on the same night.

You know its funny that you bring up attitudes, I believe two of the biggest blowups that happened were by a couple pf Late Model drivers that are actually cousins and two A-mod drivers that will remain nameless and the police were actually called and yet the track let the guys that started it actually come back the next week and suspended the team that got jumped for 2 weeks.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

This is a new promotor. It will not be the same!!
The last promotor had no experience with dirt racing. The new one does. Maybe we will have fights weekly now. Give it a chance. But bmods can run with the amods.

Would like to see the tcs highland ss rules! I would make a trip quite often! Really fun fast track glad to hear gona open back up!!!!!!!

Weren't B-mods usually one of the biggest classes? It's been a while since I've had a B-mod and raced there, but we always had a lot of cars and didn't think the show was any slower because of that class.

Oh well, atleast the track is going to open again.

If you don't set rules and then play the wait and see game you won't have guys show up when they know they will be on the low end of power and performance (street stock). Nobody wants to to go race somewhere to play the show up and see what rules we are going with game other than the guys who will have the preferred car (sportsman).

I have both kinds of cars so I'm not being bias. If you don't think like a racer in these classes it won't work.
