Jim Shereck wins at Montgomery

I think he made a couple just plain mad from what I was told. It doesn't matter whether anything is done intentionally or not there are a couple of Kansas City cars that will retaliate after the first offense. Actually their quote was, "I don't know who it was but he hit me for the first and last time." Of course there are others (from the more remote areas like Warrensburg/Knob Noster) that will grind till the wheels fall of, but that is another story. CMS was pretty rough the last couple of weeks, but this weekend it wasn't that bad. No reason for all the cars to be dropping out. From what I hear the old tracks at Marshall and the origional Lake of the Ozarks speedway (Camdenton) were much worse. Even in Kansas City a real smooth slick track was almost despised up until the closing of the last old dirt tracks in '88.
I DONT KNOW WHO YOUR TALKING ABOUT BUT IF THEY WANT TO HAVE A TALK WITH ME I'M IN THE 7X PIT THERE WELCOME TO STOP BY.I DON'T KNOW WHAT SOMEBODY WOULD HAVE TO RETALIATE FOR. I'VE RACED AT ALOT OF DIFFERENT TRACKS AND CMS IS BY FAR THE ROUGHEST TRACK I'VE BEEN ON.AND AS FAR AS ROUGH DRIVERS GO THE 20 CAR RANKS HIGH ON MY LIST.I'LL BE THERE THIS WEEKEND FOR THE 2K.

Rock on Lance, can't wait to see the action in the a-main for the 2K to win race. Emotions run high when an outsider comes in to a little track like CMS, but in the end just sells more tickets. Good luck Sat. night.

L K i want to congratulate you on the finish in the Justin Stanfill mem 1500 wasnt bad considerint the compition- I think that track is the greatist.

I've seen you run quite a bit Lance and most of the time I've been really impressed. It looked like to me that you gave the 20 car as much as you got. The Boney's have always been rough. They are from Desoto, KS and in my opinion you can knock the crap out of them all you want. They've done it to the Layne's enough themselves (especially his older brother Justin (doesn't run CMS all the time)). The people I'm talking about aren't conserned with outsiders. They've been the outsider themselves plenty espcially in years past. I'm not going to give up the confidence of the people who told me you hit them, but I can say that if they said it I believe it regardless of what it is. Mainly, because they have no reason to lie or even exaggerate to me. Things happen and people touch, but those guys are good enough that they don't tolerate anyone in the top 5 touching another car. The fact is that in KC if you touch someone you can expect retaliation. Part of it is the old sprint car menatlity of the town. You must realize that before Steve/Karl Kinser era 3/4 of the Knoxville Nationals winners came from the Kansas City and Topkea areas (Kenny/Greg Weld, Thad Doser, Jay Woodside, Ray Lee Goodwin, Eddie Levet, etc not to mention Jud Larson was a regular). Olympic Stadium was the premiere weekly sprint car show in the nation ( on a 1/5 mile no less.... serious parallels to Belleville I think). I believe the Warrensburg/Kansas natives behave more like traditional street stock racers. The KC racers don't usually talk about things before they do them. They are comfortable enough in their judgement.

So let me get this straight: Woodworth didn't even START the MCS feature? They only had 8 cars. We already know how bad the "to win" money is. But is the paydown so bad that it wasn't even worth STARTING the race and MAKING 1 LAP to get 8th place and "to start" money?

Sorry to hear MCS is having a hard time. 2 drawbacks are that it's out in the middle of nowhere, and the officiating crew is the old St Charles rejects, except for the guy they call Greg.
