Just a question.

It's funny how two former Allied techs are on here running the tech procedures down, when both of them were even more guilty of the same things being discussed here when they were techs.

Key word is FORMER due to the fact of not being allowed to tech or disqualify illegal cars due to Board Members saying NO. I don't know where you get your information from, but its wrong. I never knowingly let an illegal car go, on my own, was forced to by higher ups that's one of the reasons I quit. I even tried to get some rules clarified and cleaned up to make it easier to tech and understand for the racers and was told they were fine. I never cared about if you where a track champion, first timer, family or friend, I treated everyone the same everyone played by the same rules. If anyone tells you different they are lying! One of the illegal rear ends I spoke about earlier was a family friend he had won and I disqualified him.

Bmods need a tight set of rules that are enforced. A modified with few rules is am amod. Bmods are supposed to be the economy class. Opening the rules up will turn it into whoevers got the bigger pockets wins. Need to keep this class under control.

No matter what the rules are, money is always the trump card. Look at the NASCAR CUP engine rules. They have a rule on every part in the engine. The more rules the more it cost to make the horse power. The 500 two barrel rule is the greatest equalizer.

You are correct. Theres always going to be that guy that will out money everyone. But regardless the rules need to be very tight, clear, and to the letter with zero exceptions. Otherwise we have the amod class reborn.

I went to I55 for the first time this year on the 15th of August. I think I might have went once last year. Very surprised to see the low carcounts. I remember 2003,2004 there were at least 50 sportsman, 30 latemodels and modifieds. Not many people in the stands. I as well was curious as to what happened to Walsh. I55 seemed to be different to me. Not sure whats going on.

I really like the Allied Sportsman engine rule package I think it would have been great if that would have been widely adopted by the B mod class. A 4412 is a great equalizer and it takes a LOT of work to find an advantage. My Allied Sportsman engine package made over 460 horsepower this year and that was not easy.

This is a universal thought by many "seasoned" racers!
