Kurt Busch-Nextel Champ!

Congrads to the Busch team. ALL teams worked there buns off to make this a great season. I would have liked another driver to win, but it wasn't in the cards. I'm ready for next season to see what changes are next, perhaps a few dirt tracks!

Here's an idea, since several people here don't like the current NASCAR Nextel Cup points system let's just throw it out and go to a most popular driver points system where drivers accumulate points thru on-line voting by the fans. And you can vote as often as you like! ;)
 
Nascar and most fans will not be happy with the points system until their beloved dale jr. wins the championship.Look for more changes every year until this happens.In my opinion i thought this years chase was pretty exciting.When was the last time you seen the top three in points ,seperated by 21 points at the beginning of the race,in the top ten with ten laps to go.The way Gordon and Johnson were racing each other,agressive but clean, a first time viewer would not expect them to be teammates.Would have been a bit more exciting if Joe Nemechec would have opted to start in the back and let the leaders hash it out instead of being the only car to restart on the inside several laps down.Gordon had a pretty good jump on that restart.Congrats to busch he earned it in the last 10 races.Hope nascar dosnt chang a thing but they will like i said at the first of my reply.I know i am going to catch a lot of flack for my anti stale jr. bashing but what the hell.
 
Congradulations to Kurt Busch and Greg BIffle on a great day! Wish Martin could have won it , but as long as a Roush racing kept the title away from the 24 and 48 I didnt care! I don't understand why so many people dont like Kurt. He is one of my favorites. Every driver does some bonehead things. As far as all of the Gordon fans crying., I think this points system was great! It way better than know 3 or 4 weeks before the end of the season who won the championship. As far as the booing the champion goes. Jeff Gordon, and Dale Earnhardt always got plenty of booing! Way to go Kurt!
 
I am NOT a Jeff Gordon fan at all but i would have rather have him as champ then Busch. I really wanted either Martin (1st) or Jr (2nd) to win it. Wish Robby ( The Idiot ) Gordon would have put Busch in the wall when he had the chance when Busch was back in the pack.
 
Jeff Gordon shouldve won or jimmie johnson, not that elf looking bum(kurth busch). wish he wouldve smacked head on into those barriers when his wheel broke off. oh well...now there's nothing to watch on tv.
 
why? they both deserved to win the cup championship, hell they both won at least 3 or 4 races how many did busch win? what maybe 2? Not to mention the whole hendrick family and all the **** they've went through. it wouldve been great to see one of those guys win it. theyre more deserving than busch...oh well who cares it's over now so it doesnt matter.
 
Thought the point chase had alot of drama to it down to the last lap!!!!!
Not wild about Busch! I wished it would have been my all time FAVORITE Mark Martin !!! But either way consistency prevailed :( I do like Jack Roush so YEA for him again!!!! Waited all those years just wished it was Mark Martin getting the accolades.... I liked the new 10 races to the Championship format, was not sure if I would... Now what to watch on Sundays since boating and racing season is over :(

Not to start anything, but I don't think the wheel falling off was a big deal since he made his own luck. Sure he did a good job after that but, I guess it's because I don't like him. O well
 
Yea...im no fan of him..seems like a little punk kinda attitude he has..but the boy can drive tha chit out of a race car. Gotta respect that. Congrats to him..and his crew.

AND THATS WHAT NASCAR HAS ALWAYS REWARDED. AS I'VE SAID TWICE ON HERE ALREADY. I'M NOT TOO FOND OF BUSCH. BUT, WHEN IT COUNTED HE STEPPED UP! I DO WISH NASCAR WOULD HAVE DEVELOPED A SYSTEM THAT WOULD HAVE MADE THINGS MORE INTERESTING. BUT, WOULD NOT HAVE ELIMINATED ANYONE OUTSIDE THE TOP 10 FROM MOVING INTO THE TOP 10.

4 RACES TOO SLOW.
8 RACES DIDN'T RUN 20 LAPS.
5 RACES DID RUN 10 LAPS.
THIS GUY WAS JUST SHOWING UP AND GETTING A FREEBEE INTO THE SHOW MOST OF THE TIME. 14 TIMES OUTTA 18. WISH I HAD A CAR TO DO IT.
I DON'T BLAME THE GUY. ACTUALLY HE'S PRETTY SMART. I JUST THINK ITS UNSAFE FOR GUY TO BE OUT THERE JUST TO MAKE IT A 43 CAR FIELD.(SEE JEFF GORDON'S WRECK @ 1ST DARLINGTON RACE)

nothing against u pit drifter, because we usually agree on most things, and i respect you. But in football they only take the best teams. Just because a team goes undefeated in the regular season, and they get beat by a wildcard team, noone complains about that, and says that the team that went undefeated durring the regular season is the real championship team do they??? So this is the same format pretty much, and noone can argue that this was the closest season you have seen, and that it was very exciting??? I'm glad someone brought that point up though, these are just my opinions!
 
Martin#25, I See What You Mean. Yes, This Format Did Make It More Exciting. 5 Guys Had A Shot At The Title Instead Of 2.
