Finally, more than just a small glimmer of hope! I think about the old trackalot these days. Several weeks ago my dad showed me several pictures of him racing at Lake Hill. The pictures he showed me were amazing to see. The track looked great. My hopes are that it can be restored to its former glory and aybe used as some kind of testing facility, along with a racing museum. Offering vintage car rides at the reunion was a great idea. Having a museum on the site offering the same rides would generate some revenue. Stillany news is some good news. Hopefully.

Hay talked to KEG today and at this point a backer is needed to get the ball rolling. Anyone work for sprint or someone like that, That can talk them into sponsoring Lakehill? If there was electric and a few port-a potys there it would help get things going. 2 or 3 clubs including ours has asked to hold there meeting there BUT without elect. and a place to go to the restroom it's hard to go much farther. I asked him if elect. and the poty's were put in could he rent the track grounds out to help out on the elect. and poty's bill. Hope he can work something like that out. It would be a start. We would love to have our meetings there and at the same time help the track get going. Keep your fingers crossed. I am.

Jerry Sifford

Jerry, you will be greatly missed. I agree that the speedway would be a fitting place for a memorial service for him. How about it KEG. Rest in peace. John Hindrichs.

with the recent passing of jerry sifford, whats the possibility of having a memorial service for him there?
I think that is a great idea. Hope it can be done. If so is there anyone that has one of those big tent's like was used for the reunion to help keep it some what warm and free from the wind?

i just sent bryan the sae messege but i wanted to share it with everyone. think way back to when davey allison died and the tribute 2 weeks later at talledega. during the small service held that day, davey's uncle donnie did a lap in davey's #28 car in tribute. if there was to be a memorial service held for jerry whats the possibility of doing the same thing for jerry? its just a thought. the sifford family is in my prayers.

Anybody see the March 2008 Speedway Illustrated? Joyce Standbridge has a awesome coloum about our beloved little speedway!!! At least we made a national publication! Any publicity can't hurt!!

I ad an interesting breakfast the other morning at Pistol City. A woman whos grandaughter is in kindergarten with my oldest grew up in Valley Park. She told me she remembers going to the track back in the day to watch. I showed her the pics I had from the reunion and she said she was sorry she didnt know about it or she would have been there. I told her a few of the drivers that were there, she remembers watching them all. I didnt catch her name though, but i can always find out. its a small town lol.

Get her name and phone # just incase something turns up at the track. Just a thought. We need everyone we can get to TRY to keep this track open.

i can find her everyday when i go to pick my son up froms chool. i told her i would let her know of any future(hint hint keg) parties or reunions being held at the old track.

HAY KEG,
Was that you I just saw during the baseball rain delay on TV in a Schnucks commerarl?
The man had a hat just like your and looked just like you.

Stoped by the old track today and the track made it though the flood. The water is only 1/2 way up the track at this point and everything looks the same there. The grass is growing and starting to pop up threw the pee gravel. Hay keg can we put some grass killer on the rocks? On a day like today it shure felt goog to be there. Any updates anyone can offer on progress of the place?
